I studied Architecture in Liverpool, UK, when a study tour to Florence, Italy, inspired a lifelong interest in the Roman Empire. Travelling extensively with my work as a retail property executive provided many of the backdrops and ideas for my series of Rebecca Tempest and Jack Cooper novels.
I live with my wife in Cape Town, South Africa, and we have two adult children: Stephen, a professional race car driver in the United States, and Natalie, a marketing executive in the United Kingdom.

An unusual read for me, but JK Rowling's ability to build a story out of the characters, rather than fit the characters into the story, captivated me. On the face of it, the story should be a complete non-event, but she makes it the exact opposite! L ...more
