A highly Enjoyable Read
Pastures Old Pastures New: Tales from Chez Jacques by Annamarie DelaneyMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Returning back to the small village of Laibelle, we pick up where we left off in the Tales from Chez Jacques series. As always, the wonderfully crafted and initimate story of the Lucianne family goes deeper, exploring their links to the little village. The author, as always shows us her amazing ability to capture and present the delicate details of country living in southern France. A very relaxing and fun to follow story will have readers finding it difficult to put down this third instalment.

“This well written book is a real page turner. The author manages to keep you fully engaged with the plot while explaining the scientific concepts of the future. Whilst at the same time the story has striking similarities with struggles that are occurring in our World today. A fantastic book that I would wholeheartedly recommend to all.”

FRIDAY FACTS!
𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗨𝗠!
As always, it’s Friday’s fun fact! I generally tend to grab the most outlandish fact I find the week before and set you, the reader, the challenge of coming up with how this might fit into a science fiction narrative! Jokes, as always, are most welcome (it’s fun after all)😊
The problem of space junk is escalating, with over 500,000 pieces of debris, posing a danger to future satellites and spacecraft.
What’s the solution for getting rid of it? I assume it was more cost effective to leave it rather than retrieve it? It seems like we may finally need to utilize that space vacuum everyone has been talking about.

Is The Future of Physics Indirect?
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗛𝗬𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧……… 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗠𝗬 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗!
In my research and efforts to stay current with scientific events, I often encounter fascinating articles worth discussing. In my Wednesday science fiction blogging, I purposefully select topics that will generate debate.
This week, I thought of discussing the ways we observe physical processes and experiments in science, focusing on direct and indirect observation.
The best way to describe direct observation is when the researcher acts as the observer and records what they are sensing. In indirect observation, researchers depend on observations reported by others, and other angles.
Are we currently in an era where indirect observation is the only way to expand our knowledge due to the rise of quantum physics and advanced data analysis capabilities?

Could We Detect Warp Drive Signatures?
𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗪𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗣 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦?
Being a science fiction writer, I read many strange articles that inspire my weekly social media posts. On Mondays, I enjoy delving into the scientific concepts I encounter.
Katy Clough and colleagues at the Queen Mary University of London extensively researched this very issue and hold the belief that it is possible. Their prediction was based on our now tried and tested method of measuring gravitational waves at LIGO.
Based on their viewpoint, it is suggested that we should be capable of applying the same principle to gauge the collapsed warp bubbles assumed to originate from technologies such as the speculated ‘Alcubierre Drive’ (warps spacetime to facilitate faster than light travel).
Is it possible to utilize LIGO for this particular task? The answer to this is unfortunately no ☹ LIGO only works with low frequencies, i.e. the collision of large objects such as two black holes; so the detection of a gravitational wave created by something as small as a spacecraft would require the ability to analyse higher frequencies.
Is the required technology currently available for this task? The recent achievement of NASA’s LISA pathfinder mission confirms the viability of a triangular space-based interferometer system in overcoming noise challenges and increasing frequency sensitivity (detecting higher frequency gravitational waves).
LISA might not pick up on distant warp drive signatures, but it could still provide evidence of alien visitors to Earth. What are your thoughts?

WEEKLY UPDATE
𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬’𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗪𝗡 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗟𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 – 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘!
Hi everyone,
Yesterday, I attended Worthing Festival for the first time with the Arun Scribes. Although it was an open gazebo on the seafront and I couldn’t display the roller banners, I still had a great time. I’m eager to participate in similar events in the future.
I sold some copies of book 1, ‘Compassion’s Cry’, and discovered the power of my FREE reader giveaway. Those who weren’t particularly eager to buy at that time, but had a curiosity for science, were more than delighted to receive something for FREE 😊
If you haven’t already, check out the reader timeline I’ve compiled, spanning from 1961 to the beginning of book 1 in 4545. It’s absolutely free, and if you don’t think it’s right for you, you won’t have to waste your money! Go on, why not give it a go? Simply follow the link provided below 😊

Hope you all have a great week?
Kind Regards,

What would happen if we were invaded by aliens and had to hide, devising entirely new ways of communication to avoid detection?
Well fear not! Recent research has found that the sweat of an anxious individual could trigger emotional and social receptors in the brains of others! I’m pretty sure communication via anxiety is already the norm, with most Western governments having already done the groundwork, so it looks as if preparations are well under way! No sweat hey?
