Snow and Snowy Tales
I'm thinking about my homeland, Great Britain, and there is a deep sense of nostalgia, as I envision this beautiful land bedecked with snow!
Weekends can be a challenge for parents in the winter months, when the novelty of snowmen and snow angels, and sledding and skating has begun to wear thin, and children just want to get warm indoors, and find something entertaining to do.
I remember my childhood, when, after an adventure in the snow, I would settle down to read a good book in the warmth of home.
Snowy Tales are made to go with snowy weather, and my latest creation, "Snugs The Snow Bear," is a warm and fluffy read, which will teach your children about friendship, loyalty and belonging, as well as providing them with inspiration about wildlife, nature and the environment.
Stay safe and wrap up warm, and Happy Reading with Snugs!

What The Kids Say about Snugs!
I had the most wonderful time at a Children's Center today, reading my brand new Children's Book, "Snugs The Snow Bear," Book One of "The
Snugs Series"
Here are some of the gems:
"Are you coming back? I'm going to beg so that you do!"
" An impression is a kind of emotion." (This was a bright seven year old's explanation of the title of the last chapter - "Snugs Makes A Lasting Impression.")
"Is The Bear on the cliff Snugs? Wow!"
"How long did it take to write the book?
"I like the chapter in Iceland the best, when they are playing together!"
"We want you to read all the books in the series to us!"

Thank You, So Much!
I would like to thank all the people who have bought "Snugs the Snow Bear" for their children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and for children they love:) It is a pleasure to be able to write books, and do what I love! Children are the future. I am most grateful that all your support helps me write books for this generation, and generations to come.

My Vision, My Dream - Snugs The Snow Bear
I'd like to begin by wishing all my Snugs The Snow Bear Readers, Followers and Fans a Peaceful and Happy Easter!
Now I have a message. My vision for Snugs The Snow Bear is to communicate to children on a global scale about friendship, loyalty and belonging, in a magical storyline with lively, lovable characters, who embody these themes. But I also intend to spread the word about Green Issues, and the beauty of this earth, and its endangered species, which we need to protect for this generation, and generations to come.
I am looking to put "Snugs The Snow Bear" on an international stage, and I would like musical theatre and ice dancing professionals to come forward, with a view to making this happen!
My vision is to stage "Snugs The Snow Bear" as an ice-dancing and musical theatre event, but I cannot do this on my own!
Once I have the talent in place, we will be in a position to stage a spectacular for all to enjoy.
A percentage of proceeds from sales will go to charity.
Please volunteer your expertise in this exciting venture.
Best Wishes, Suzy Davies, Author.

International Happiness Day!
Pharrell Williams sang about it - and so did Diddy-men Ken Dodd ;) Happiness makes you smile just thinking about it!
For me, I hear the words of my late dad when I think about happiness - "Make sure you love your job because that'll make you happy! You'll probably spend most of your life working - except when you are asleep, and if you love your job it won't seem like work at all. And you'll be with like-minded people"
What great advice this was. My job- writing - does fulfill me and makes me very happy indeed! It is a solitary job, but thanks to those people who encourage me and who read my books, I cannot imagine a better occupation. I love to hear from my readers, and it spurs me on to know I can make people feel happy in my own small way.

Essential Skills for Children's Writers.
The skills that are needed to write a quality children’s book are:
1) Empathetic understanding of a child’s world - what is important and interesting to him/her.
2) The ability to write a story which “sees” “hears” and “feels” the world through the eyes of a child.
3) Imagination, in bucketloads!
4) Humour - the younger the child, the more obvious and slapstick the humor should be. Think bodily functions or humor that is naughty - tummies rumbling, snoring, farting, seeing the baddies fall over, and so on.
5) Writers of children’s books need to be aware that young children’s attention spans are shorter. Therefore, the ability to make smooth, relatively swift transitions from scene to scene, to write clearly, simply, and at a good pace is important.
6) Characterisation and character-led stories work very well indeed in children’s books. The ability to create larger than life, lovable heroes and heroines is the essence of a good read for children. It’s good to have baddies, too. Larger than life characters work - ones that kids want to hug, and ones that they love to hate! Think pantomime!
7) Young children adore animal and nature stories so a knowledge and love of animals and nature is very useful to a writer of children's books.
8) Writers of children’s books should have a good ear for their story. All books should flow, and sound good, but with children’s books, this is all the more important if they are the kind of books that are read out loud.
9) Unless the author illustrates their own books, authors of children’s books need the ability to communicate their ideas to their illustrator in a visual way. Illustrations in young children’s books help to convey information. Having a good rapport with an illustrator collaborator is essential.
10) Excellent artwork is at the heart of good children’s books.
11) Voice acting ability is very useful to writers who narrate audiobooks and/or do readings of their books. Personal warmth, a liking for children, and the ability to have a rapport with them is essential.
Authors of children's books need to be entertainers and educators. It is a great responsibility writing children’s books which will influence a generation growing up, and many generations to come.

When Luna Dances in The Moonlight - a Poem/Song based on "Luna The Moon Pig" Picture Book
When Luna dances in the moonlight,
she makes us want to join in,
her feet have a rhythm as she takes flight,
like a little bird in the spring!
When Luna dances in the moonlight,
her eyes have a special glow,
her pretty face is always smiling,
she’s the loveliest piggy that we know!
When Luna dances in the moonlight,
her snout nods to the tune,
she swishes her tail,
like a sailboat sail,
gliding under the moon!
When Luna dances in the moonlight,
we all like to clap and sing,
as she sways to the music,
everything is magic -
and it’s all such a wonderful
all such a magical,
all such a beautiful thing!

Schools Strike in U.K in Protest for Climate Change Action
I'm delighted to see young folks getting involved in Climate Change action.
It's great that young people are leading the way on Climate Change.
It is my hope that my Middle-Grade Children's Book, Snugs The Snow Bear, will help inspire very young minds to be the leaders of the future on environmental issues.
