Leftover Turkey Fried Carnivore Rice

Are you looking for a special recipe to make with your leftover turkey?

Sure  you could make a delicious leftover turkey sandwich using my protein sparing bread (hmmm, that sounds delicious!) but I have a new idea for you!

You could make my protein sparing leftover Turkey Fried Carnivore “Rice!”

There is no rice or cauliflower rice in this recipe!

HOW TO MAKE LEFTOVER TURKEY OVER CARNIVORE RICE

To be totally honest, I never liked nor ate cauliflower rice. I have been eating my zero-carb fried “rice” for many years.  Instead of cauliflower rice, I use eggs to whisk into rice. To make this fried “rice” protein sparing, I used egg whites with Further Food gelatin!

Adding gelatin to the egg whites helps give it a great texture to resemble rice!

To make my delicious Leftover Turkey Fried Carnivore Rice, I used Kettle and Fire bone broth!

I have made my carnivore Fried Rice so many times and each time I use a different Kettle and Fire bone broth flavor! I think my favorite is actually using the Kettle and Fire beef broth! But all of the Kettle and Fire broths are so delicious!

High Fat vs High Protein Carnivore Diets

Here’s a breakdown of why a high-fat carnivore diet may not be as healthy as a high-protein carnivore diet, especially when we factor in nutrient density and long-term health considerations.

1. Nutrient Density Advantage of Higher Protein

Protein foods carry more micronutrients—especially when you include leaner cuts of meat, organ meats, and seafood.

Essential nutrients like iron, zinc, selenium, B12, and creatine are abundant in high-protein carnivore diets without excessive fat dilution.

High-fat diets can displace protein, leading to suboptimal amino acid intake for muscle maintenance, repair, and hormone production.

📚 Phillips & Van Loon, 2011 – Adequate protein is crucial for preserving lean body mass, especially during caloric restriction or aging.

2. Risks of Excessive Fat Intake

While dietary fat is essential, very high fat intake—especially if not balanced with adequate protein—may carry risks:

Energy Surplus & Weight Gain: Fat is calorically dense (9 kcal/g), making it easy to overeat, even without carbs.

Hyperlipidemia Risk in Susceptible Individuals: Some carnivore eaters see elevated LDL and ApoB with prolonged very high-fat intake.

Lower Nutrient-to-Calorie Ratio: More fat means fewer nutrient-dense foods per calorie, lowering diet quality if protein and micronutrients are reduced.

📚 Stanhope, 2016 – Overconsumption of fat, regardless of carb intake, can contribute to excess energy storage and metabolic issues in some individuals.

 

3. Protein’s Role in Metabolic & Hormonal Health

Higher protein diets increase the thermic effect of food, burning more calories during digestion.

They help maintain insulin sensitivity and promote better glucose control even in low-carb contexts.

Protein stimulates satiety hormones (GLP-1, PYY), making it easier to control appetite.

📚 Leidy et al., 2013 – High-protein diets improve appetite control and reduce late-night cravings.

4. Muscle Preservation & Longevity

Sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) is a major health risk with aging; low protein intake accelerates it.

Muscle is a metabolic reserve—higher muscle mass supports immune function, blood sugar regulation, and mobility in older age.

High-fat carnivore diets risk under-delivering the protein stimulus needed for muscle protein synthesis.

📚 Bauer et al., 2013 – Older adults benefit from higher protein intakes (≥1.2 g/kg/day) for muscle preservation and longevity.


“I’d reduced my training, was overeating fat, & I, ahem, wasn’t getting any younger. There was muscle loss, fat gain, & concern about being “under-muscled” & osteopenia.


In April, I got a formal Lipedema diagnosis & the accompanying referral for surgery to prevent progression.


At a sad 7 lbs heavier than I wanted to be, the next DEXA showed: I got my muscle back! A 6.6 lb increase! I’m down 1.2 lbs of fat & back to 30% bf!

5. When Higher Fat Might Be Justified

Neurological therapy (e.g., epilepsy, certain neurodegenerative conditions) where high ketones are beneficial.

Individuals with extreme calorie needs who can’t consume large protein volumes.

Short-term adaptation phases for those coming off high-carb diets.

✅ Bottom Line:
For most people—especially those interested in fat loss, muscle retention, metabolic health, and nutrient density—a higher-protein carnivore approach is more beneficial than a very high-fat approach. High fat can still be part of the diet, but overemphasizing it at the expense of protein may limit long-term health and performance.

The Calculator y’all provide has been a godsend … Exactly ONE MONTH AGO, TODAY, I started using that calculator to get the proper calories and macros for both the Fast Fat Loss AND PSMF for my body and ❤ I’m so very happy, thrilled, amazed and just plain mesmerized to say that I’ve lost 27 lbs, so far, in JUST THIS ONE month of following the numbers provided both by the calculator and the paragraphs explaining the calculator… I had almost lost hope, but thanks to you guys Ms Keto Adapted – Maria Emmerich and Mr Craig Emmerich , I’m continuing my journey with sparkles back in my eyes and the hope in achieving my goals, not just weight loss, but others too! I’m fully aware that results will vary month to month and day to day as bodies adjust along the way with what is changing to them, and in them, but at this moment, a sigh of relief as swept over (if that makes sense).


I’m nowhere near having all the knowledge I need, but steadily gaining more and more knowledge and confidence as I research, listen to, ask questions, and understand the process and information y’all give. Your recipes are an inspiration, but most of all, y’alls hearts are truly full of love, care, and compassion for those around you, those that need your help and those who love and respect you! When we were on safari at Xigera in Botswana, we had the most wonderful time! We have been at this safari lodge before and it was our favorite lodge. Four years ago, we met Chef Ziyaad Brown, who is not only super kind, he is also very creative! I only wish I had more time to be at Xigera so I could mash our brains together for some really crazy recipe ideas!

Chef Ziyaad asked us before each meal what our hearts desired, and for most lunches, we asked for burger patties. Well, Chef wasn’t ok with just serving us burger patties; he also made chicken fries, as well as a cottage cheese dipping sauce, which I will write up for you soon! They were both so delicious, I had to ask Chef for his recipes!



Even though I wasn’t feeling well (because of the poisonous spider bites), Chef made comfort food that was so yummy and made me smile!

NOTE ON MAKING CHICKEN FRIES

Chef used 2.2 pounds of chicken in his recipe, but when I was playing with the recipe, I used half the amount of chicken and I found the fries being a little more tender and less dry. So depending on your preference, you can play with the recipe too!

Easy Chai Panna Cotta

Easy Chai Panna Cotta

Panna cotta desserts are one of my favorites to make because they are so easy! If your kids are trying to cut out sugar, have them make a panna cotta recipe with allulose instead of sugar. All they have to do is mix the ingredients together, place in a cute cup and chill! Tada! They made a fancy Italian dessert!

TIP ON MAKING KETO PANNA COTTA

Making food with gelatin is an easy way to make tasty foods but foods made with gelatin can easily get too rubbery if they sit in the fridge overnight. If you plan on making this recipe ahead of time and not serving it the same day it is made, I suggest using ¼ teaspoon less gelatin than called for; this quantity will create a perfect creamy texture even after a day or two of resting in the fridge.

To make my easy chai panna cotta, I used Further Food gelatin!

OH MY GOODNESS! I love shortbread and this recipe is super delicious! I got inspiration for this recipe from Bella (Steak and Butter Gal) who was inspired by another creator Terri Haas.

The consequences of being sedentary, not caring about your diet and lifestyle and being unfit is hard.


Making the daily choice to nourish your body, to be fit, active & mobile is also hard.
