Thank you for friending me. I love your vampire novels, even though they are a little darker, than I normally read. Have a great day.
Hi,I just finished reading Dead Sexy.It was a good read.I love your characters. Are there other books with Joaquin & Regan in them?I would really love to learn more about their story. Thanks for writing such fun books.Have a good week.

Thank yo for the add as your friend. you are one of my most favorite authors. Your wriiting is a balm to my soul on so many occasions. thank you for writting and sharing your gift!
I am amazed at how many people wrote me about Mara. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since I also found her to be a fascinating character. I love the Night books, obviously .Of course, I also love the book I'm writng now. My critique group thinks it's my best ever. I really love it. But then, I love them all when I'm writing them
Amanda wrote: "Ah, Mara's story. It's still in the works. To tell you the truth, so many people have asked about it, I'm afraid no matter what I write, people will be disappointed It's making me paranoid."Well, I surely won't be disappointed if you pair her up with Kyle permanently! I'd LOVE it if they would get married!!!! Of course, that's your decision as an author, but let me tell you, when a reader starts getting so curious about minor characters in a main story that she starts skipping chapters to see what's going on with these characters, it means something....so I hope you'll decide to pair them up. Already Mara's hard shell has cracked, and she has mellowed. I LOVE THAT!!
Anyway, just to let you know, I finished "Night's Pleasure" at exactly 11:30 this evening, and gave it 5 stars!!! I promise to write a review when I get a chance. It was a thoroughly enchanting story! In fact, I LOVE all of the books in the Night series. I LOVE the Cordova family!!!!!
Keep on truckin'!!!!!
Ah, Mara's story. It's still in the works. To tell you the truth, so many people have asked about it, I'm afraid no matter what I write, people will be disappointed It's making me paranoid.
Amanda wrote: "Hi ~ Sorry - and happy - to have kept you up so late. Glad you're enjoying Night's Pleasure. Have you read the other 3 in the series?????????A Belated Happy 4th to you!!!!"
Oh, I'm enjoying every minute of it! Since I don't have to work today, I slept the morning away! Lol.
As for the other three, yes, I have read and loved them all! I need to add "Night's Master" to my list of books read, though. I finished it before I was a goodreads member. The first three have five-star ratings, and "Night's Master" gets the same. When I get a chance, I will write reviews for each of them.
My ONE big favorite is "Embrace the Night". I read that one several years ago, and have never forgotten it, although I don't remember all the plot details. I do remember, though, that the hero met the heroine when she was a little girl, and began watching over her since that time. It was such a sweet, tender story.... I need to re-read it!!
Also, I'm very intrigued by Mara and Kyle. I actually found myself skipping over the main chapters of "Night's Pleasure" in order to find out what was going on with them. There's a note at the end of the book, which explains that her story is coming up soon. Since "Night's Pleasure" was published last year, are you still working on Mara's story? If so, when can we expect it to be released? I hope it will be soon!!! =D
Hi ~ Sorry - and happy - to have kept you up so late. Glad you're enjoying Night's Pleasure. Have you read the other 3 in the series?????????A Belated Happy 4th to you!!!!
Hi, Amanda!! HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! I started reading "Night's Pleasure" yesterday, and stayed up until 3 AM with it!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I'll probably finish it today! Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend! =D
Amanda wrote: "<<<I should be so lucky! I shouldn't even have to work this Monday -- it's a holiday! But the company won't give us the day off...
At least the traffic will be great tomorrow, since most people will not be going to work....
BTW, I had a very nice Valentine's Day. Hope you did, too! :)
<<<LOL...I don't blame you!!!! Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and that your boss is absent on Monday and that you have green lights all the way to work.

I only wish it could become true as you write...this is my deepest wish whenever I read any type of fantasy or science fiction. Would that it were real! I would much prefer to embark upon a quest with Frodo, or be at Harry Potter's side as he battles Voldemort, or swooning in Edward's arms, or gazing into Dominic St. John's hypnotic eyes, than having to deal with my bullying boss and Monday morning traffic!!!
Hi ~ I'm glad you're enjoying A Whisper of Eternity. I don't believe in reincarnation, but it's fun to write about. I did it in another book, too.I know what you mean about getting away from reality. I think that's why I love writing so much!!!! I can make my world any way I want it!

If you check my profile, you'll see that I'm currently reading "A Whisper of Eternity". I have to update, since I'm farther along now than page 90. Love the story! It's so romantic, having a man searching for you throughout the centuries...sigh...
I'm not sure about reincarnation, but you use the concept beautifully in this book!
I would have to say that my favorite romances nowadays are definitely paranormals. I guess I want to get as far away from 'the real world' as I possibly can, when I get my romance 'fix'! Don't much like reality...or maybe I should do something about creating my own reality...
I mostly read paranormal these days. I used to love historicals set in the Old West, but most historicals seem to be set in England/Scotland these days. I like romantic suspense and some contemporaries. Mostly, I like to write

Lol! Typical! At that age (I assume they're teens) I was quite shy, and always had my nose buried in a book. Eventually, I did succeed in getting married, though. Hee, hee!
I am a romance junkie! I love paranormals, Regencies, contemporaries, general historicals, futuristic/fantasy, and any existing category of romance novel!! Well, except erotica, of course.
<<<Yes, but I don't think they spend much time reading. Too busy with other things, like dating and partying with their friends

Are any of your grandkids old enough to discuss your books with you? If so, that would be so nice...
Hi ~ I had a busy weekend, too. One of my grandkids spent the night Friday and was here all day Sat. Church on Sunday, and then some of the kids came to dinner. Always fun to spend time with them. They're the best!

Yeah, I do hope things will get better. But I wonder... even YA books (except Steph's, of course) are going over 'to the dark side', as you put it.
By the way, I swung by B&N on my way home this evening, and purchased "Everlasting Kiss"!! And I am now reading "A Whisper of Eternity". I had this book for a long time before getting to it -- bought it in 2007. I buy books like crazy, planning to read them at some time in the future. It was about time I got to this one!
I also have "Immortal Sins". Gotta get to that one, too!
I think there are a number of readers who are offended by the language and violence in books, but they buy them because that's what's out there. I get letters like yours from time to time, saying they like my books because they aren't graphic, so we're not alone. I've stopped buying some of my fav authors because they've gone to the dark side . I know what you mean about older romances. They were much cleaner than what's being pubbed today. Hopefully, things will get better.
Amanda wrote: "Hi Maria ~ The best thing you can do is write to the publisher and tell them how you feel about the profanity, etc., in the books you buy. Her prose is very gritty, but this goes well with the action and characters. I guess she wanted to make her heroes and action more 'believable' by using extremely vulgar language and very graphic scenes, but she goes much too far!
I wonder, though, how many readers are really and truly offended by such things nowadays. It seems that romance novels just keep pushing the envelope where offensiveness is concerned. I've been reading them for a long time now (I have by no means listed all the books I've ever read, because I don't remember them all), and I can tell you that the novels being published now are much more vulgar than the ones published years ago.
Another writer whose work I love is Mary Balogh. She, too, keeps her books tasteful. They're Regency romances, but I enjoy those as well. I know that you use the name 'Amanda Ashley', and have also written historicals, as Madeline Baker, which is your real name. I gotta check those out, too!
Hi Maria ~ The best thing you can do is write to the publisher and tell them how you feel about the profanity, etc., in the books you buy. Maybe, if enough readers complain, they'll do something about it. Right now, it seems as if anything goes. I know I read a book recently that had the most disgusting word in it that I've ever read, written by a woman who is probably the most popular author out there. I was shocked by the word, and shocked that a woman had written it. Needless to say, I won't be buying any momre of her books!!!!
Amanda wrote: "<<<LOL...Actually, the best thing you can do is write to the publisher and let them know how you feel.
As for my books,..."
Oops! I had just changed the last paragraph of my post. I noticed that you have a new book, "Everlasting Kiss", so I decided to add it to my list of books I want to read.
You're right -- I should write to the publisher and express my viewpoint. I think I will!
Thanks for wishing me a Happy Sabbath! Actually, it's my husband who's Jewish, but thanks anyway! I was brought up Catholic myself, although I have also attended a couple of Protestant churches here and there. I do think that we Christians should be more aware of the Jewish roots of Christianity, too.
<<<LOL...Actually, the best thing you can do is write to the publisher and let them know how you feel.
As for my books, they, too, occasionally have a few bad words, but nothing close to the F-word. I read a book not long ago that had the most awful word I have ever seen in print. I couldn't believe it was in a book written by a woman who is probably the top-selling author in the business. I was shocked. But I guess that's the world we live in these days. Anything goes, and probably will until enough readers start to complain.
Happy Sabbath!
Amanda wrote: "Hi Maria ~ Thank you for your comments regarding my books. You will never find the F-word in any of my books, or graphic love scenes. I don't like to read them and I don't write them, although my b..."You're very welcome!!
Come to think of it, I do remember an occasional "damn" or "hell" in The Twilight Saga. But that's as far as it went. And these words were just that -- occasional.
I just cringe when I come across the "F" word in a novel. I can't stand it! So again, I do appreciate that you don't do this!
The book I was referring to also had a very vulgar phrase, "the crack of her a--". I really don't think this type of gutter language is at all necessary.
Another thing that turned me off this book right away was the violence, which struck me as very sadistic. I realize that vampire romances do have to have some violence in them, because their heroes are vampires, after all. However, when the author seems to dwell on it, depicting every little gruesome detail, then it becomes sadistic. Not my cup of tea at all!
I've just added your new release, "Everlasting Kiss" to my 'to read' list. I'm looking forward to adding it to my collection, and then enjoying it! YAY!!
Hi Maria ~ Thank you for your comments regarding my books. You will never find the F-word in any of my books, or graphic love scenes. I don't like to read them and I don't write them, although my books would probably be more popular if I did. I have taken books back to the store that I found objectionable. I also love Meyer's books.
Thanks for accepting my friend request! I have to tell you that it is so refreshing to read your books, because of the total absence of profanity, as well as extremely graphic sex scenes. Neither of these is necessary in order to enjoy a good romance novel!
I started reading a vampire romance yesterday. I won't name the author or the book title. Well, I hadn't passed two pages before I encountered the f-bomb! I kept reading, however, because I did like the characters. And oh, what torture... more profanity kept popping up. Then, the final straw -- the author actually used the word p---y!! That was it for me. I'm even getting rid of this book. Had I bought it at a bookstore, I would have gone back to return it. I've done that before, when a book turned out to be particularly objectionable. But I bought this one through Amazon, and none of the reviews mentioned the profanity or the graphic sex. I might very well dump it in the trash.
So I'd like to thank you for not peppering your books with profanity. As far as sex goes, your novels always remain tasteful when describing intimate scenes.
You and Stephanie Meyer are unique among paranormal romance writers -- both of you actually concentrate on the story and characters, and avoid trying to be "cool" by doing what everybody else is doing.
The two of you are my FAVORITE paranormal romance writers!!!
Hi Kat ~ I had a wonderful Christmas. Hope you did, too. I'm glad you enjoy my books. I love writing them! I hope you have a terrific New Year!
Thanks for friending me. I hope you had a great holiday. I love your books. Dead Perfect is my favorite so far.:-)
Hi Megan ~ Thank you for your comment. When I wrote that, I wasn't sure it was going anywhere...but I've been tinkering with it the last couple of days and I've come up with part of a plot, so I'm going to keep going and see if it turns into a book!
Hi Mandy,I was reading your website a couple of days ago and just had to tell you that the "In the Works" page there is an untitled prologue with Mr. Thorn and Skylynn that has me absolutely hooked! It is such a great start that I'm already excited about it! Of course, I love your books, and I have all my co-workers hooked too! Thank you- the vampire romance world would be a dull place without you!
-Megan
Hi Mary ~ I'm happy to know you enjoyed Dead Perfect. Would love to hear your feedback on any of my other books you might read.
Hey Amanda.I just finish your book Dead Perfect and i want to say that the whole plot was quiet interesting. It's a lot different from the other vampire books i've read before. The whole vampire thing was similar but how you shape it up was different and that's what i like about it. The character were also really captivating and lovable. Shannah is likable and Ronan is simply irresistible, of course all vampire male are.. lol.. I plan to read more of your book an will get back to you with my feedback if that's ok? Later.

Hi Mandy, That is great I am going to have to check that one out too. Jeez my TBR list just keeps growing and growing. I know I will like your new books, so far I haven't found any that I don't like. I know when I see your name on it that it is a "sure thing". Kelley
Hi Kelley ~ I hope you like my new books. FYI, Leisure is reissuing COMANCHE FLAME, which is the first book I ever wrote. Mandy
Hi Kelley ~ It's nice to "meet" you. I'm happy to know you've enjoyed my books. I love writing them, and hope to write many more. I have one coming out in October, and two next year.Mandy
Hi Amanda, thank you so much for friending me. I am so excited, I really love your work. I always get little tingles when I'm at the book store and see you have a new book out or that they just have one I haven't read yet. Kelley
Hello Amanda, I was given one of your books from a friend and let me just say it took me very few days to collect all of your books. I think i may be missing a couple but wow I am truly hooked on your writing then night's series has me so tangled that I can't wait for the next one. Keep writing girl love your stories.
