Steven L. Jones is a writer, artist, musician, and former instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

He writes about music, art, and film from psychological, political, historical, and mythic/folkloric perspectives.

He played in the seminal Louisville post-punk band Folks on Fire and worked as a performance artist for many years.

Kentucky-born, the son of a choir director and violinist, he lives with his dog Queequeg in his adopted hometown, Chicago.
