She can be the center of attention and the life of the room, but then it's like she flips a switch and can be so introverted and shy.” Charles exhaled a breath and continued. “She's been through a lot in her life and is a true survivor. There are so many layers to her. She's deep beyond her years, but so much fun. She makes me laugh. I've laughed more since I met her than I have in years. She truly is a remarkable woman. Her heart was hammering so hard that she felt as though the entire drum section of a marching band had taken up residence in her chest, and she was amazed Charles couldn't feel her pulse racing as he continued to hold her hand in place on the baton. His touch sent chills down her spine.
