How RP and D&D Saved My Writing

First off, I probably need to say sorry for my unexplained hiatus from... everything. Yes, I'm still alive. No, I'm not horribly sick. I'm just working really hard on book 3 (I've been bringing my journal to bed when I absolutely have to turn off my laptop for the night so I can continue writing). Other than writing I've been dealing with real life and my immigration process.

Now that that's out of the way I can get to the actual post.

For years I've loved writing. I think I've said before, but...

An announcement concerning the giveaway

Hello everyone, specifically giveaway winners.

I do have everything packed and ready to send. June has been a rough month for me so I've only been able to send a couple of the books out.

However! I will be sending the rest of the books out at the beginning of July. I'm terribly sorry this has happened, but you will still receive your books.

It's been a while

Picture It's been a while since I posted on here. Things just haven't seemed to line up and I haven't been all that interested in continuing my blog. There are several reasons for that, most of them unimportant (probably the chief reason being laziness) but I will attempt to get back in the swing of posting regularly.

I don't understand what's interesting to you. I don't know what grabs your attention. There's no way I could know, I'm not in your head. So instead of trying to be a mind reader, I'll t...

Foreign Living

I have many friends who've gone farther than me, lived in stranger places. Those friends are extraordinarily brave and go to other countries without being fluent in anything other than English. Some only stay a year, others stay for the rest of their lives.

I'm not that brave. I've only moved to Canada. From the US, Canada looks about the same. The majority of the country speaks English, we face similar economic, immigration, food, and living problems. Much of the northern US empathizes with C...

NaNoWriMo (And why I'm not doing it)

Since sometime in high school (whenever my friend Symone told me about it, I can't remember what year) I've participated in NaNoWriMo. Most times I've failed. I've won a couple of years, but I consider those moot as I've been working on the Factions series since sometime in 2008, meaning I'm basically just writing different forms of the same story.

I thought about doing NaNo this year. It is the only thing I can explain as a sporting event for authors. It becomes a bit of a competition (friend...

Crescendo and Updates

Picture As most of you know, Factions: Crescendo will be out later this month! That's right! You can continue your journey with Diedrick, Minya, and crew!

I'll give you an exact date soon, but it should be the 20th. So start looking on Amazon and other websites soon!

As to why I've been in and out of communication, I've been in the Great White North! That's right! Alberta, Canada. It is snowy and getting colder and I love it. No one will play in the snow with me, though... That makes me a little sad.

A...

October 30th, 2014

Hello all!

I'm really sorry about the last post. When I posted it there were words. I didn't know there weren't until right now.

I've been kind of missing for the past couple weeks. It is all a bit of a whirlwind, but I got married on October 26 and had a lot of fun from that. I'll have some pictures below.

Anyway, it was a really short ceremony (less than 5 minutes, I think). I was shaking from excitement and nervous energy and he was too. We did a Steampunk wedding and, although I didn't reall...

8 Favorite Halloween Movies

Picture Halloween is my favorite time of year, and even though these lists are a bit cliche, I feel I should share my love of the spooky. Keep in mind that I'm looking at this as a list of movies I like, they may not be the best objectively.

Spook level chart
1 - Good for kids and family
2 - Parental presence suggested
3 -Parental presence strongly suggested
4 -Probably don't watch alone
5 -Definitely don't watch alone

1. Salem's Lot (1979)
Spook level: 4
Trailer
This movie came out in 1979 and it's based on...

My Epic Battle

I promised I'd talk about this so here's my post...

A few nights ago I was heading to bed (late as usual) when I heard what I only know to describe as a roach moving. Anyone who has not dealt with large roaches may not understand what I mean when I say that. It's a sound that's akin to paper scratching against paper or getting crumpled up, but it's not that sound exactly. It's more erratic. It's six needles scampering across a wasteland of crumpled papers.

Another thing y'all might not know is...

An Explanation

Those of you who often follow me may be wondering what's up with my plummeting social media interactions lately. As I do usually post on this blog at least once a week and strive for at least one tweet a day, I've been notably silent.
Long and short of it is that I'm working on Factions: Crescendo, the second book in my series. It's supposed to come out this November but may get pushed back to December due to unforeseen circumstances.
So... sorry I've not been very active!
Oh! I did do battle wi...
