Somewhere near the crossroads of experience and imagination, if you search hard enough—and catch it in the right light, you may find a story worth telling. I was lucky to have found the thread of FORTUNATE SON in a small memory from my adolescence. The rest came from my somewhat dark imagination. The characters in the book were ladled from an old bucket brimming with memories of friends and strangers I've crashed into over the years.

I did a lot of living before I started writing. I sold stuff to people, sang jazz, and played rugby. Those experiences were helpful to my writing. Why I Write Thrillers

"What's your book about?"

When literary agent Janet Reid asked me that question at the 2019 Writer's Digest Conference in New York City, I thought I had an answer.
