Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Stephen Hodgson I have always had a love of ancient history. There are lots of books about the Romans. There are less about the Greeks. There are even less about the …moreI have always had a love of ancient history. There are lots of books about the Romans. There are less about the Greeks. There are even less about the Spartans. The books that are available about the Spartans tend to be based on real characters. The Spartan system of education is so extreme that I thought it would be fun and interesting to write about two characters - a boy and a girl - going through that training programme. (less)
