Soquel Baumgardner (pronounced SOH-kel) is a writer of chick lit, urban fantasy, alternative historical fiction, and fairy tales. She uses her degree in psychology to create complex characters. Her first job, working the night shift at a nuclear power plant, gave her a taste for the strange and unusual. Her last job, teaching creative writing to students in grades six through twelve at a private school, also brought her face-to-face with the strange and unusual. She has lived in fifty-one different homes, including next door to the famous Oak Alley Plantation and in a Victorian house in the middle of a California broccoli field said to be haunted by a ghost in a spacesuit.
