M L Baldwin is a former Tank Commander who joined the Second Royal Tank Regiment in 1996 and served with them on operations in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan over a 19 year career. He was Mentioned in Despatches (MiD) during his last tour of Afghanistan.
After leaving the forces he decided to try his hand at becoming an author, which is where you join him now in his journey. Inspired by the likes of Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy, he wrote his debut series of books for Operation Fools Mate back in 2023 which he hopes people will enjoy reading as much as he enjoyed writing them. Using his own first hand experiences of life on the front line of combat operations, he hopes to bring a level of realism and excitement that will both

Come back the next day, cup of tea in hand, fresh faced and brain reset. If necessary skip the part of the story your struggling with, go to the end, or back to the beginning, type whatever is in your head at the time, regardless of its to do with the book. Stop and read what you've written. perhaps without realising it you've answered your question and overcome the block. (less)

You control the narrative, how cool or sleazy the characters are, how tall, how large, how small, how funny. Then the plot, the location, the twists and the turns, the ending. All of it lingering in your head, ready to be put to paper. This is your story, and it goes where you want it to go. That's what I love about being a writer.(less)

"Third of a good trilogy

I read and enjoyed these books over a few days.
Overall they’re a good read, grounded in military reality with just enough forward look for a what-if / future war angle.
