Angela Oliver, "LemurKat", is an author and illustrator. She loves cute and quirky, weird and wonderful, wildlife, and they often find a way to creep into her stories. Angela Oliver has a BSc in zoology and psychology, and enjoys adventuring around the world: visiting such places as Australia, Hawaii, and Madagascar. She resides in the garden city of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Angela Oliver has two novels to her name: "Aroha's Grand Adventure", an animal adventure story set in New Zealand, and "Fellowship of the Ringtails", the first in the series described as "epic fantasy, with lemurs". She does not tend to write human characters, favoring the challenge of non-human protagonists.

Her miniature works of art can be found in private collection

In memory of Sir Pterry

Today I am in mourning, for today one of my favourite authors stepped out of this world and into the next (if you believe in that kind of thing). That author is Sir Terry Pratchett. He had struggled for eight years with alzheimers and finally it got the better of him.

I first discovered the Discworld close to 30 years ago, when desperately seeking something new to read in our tiny local library. I Read more of this blog post »

Gripping and entertaining, with a lot of characters and a lot of social and political upheaval. I enjoyed it enough to devour it in a few days.

Would've been nice to havesome sort of explanation as to how Maggie got there, but maybe that'll happen in

I'm at 60% and have (maybe temporarily) abandoned this book, not because I wasnt enjoying it but because another reserved book has come available and I'd rather read that.

This one is fine though. The writing style is lightly sardonic, and the charact

3.5 rounded up.

An enjoyable and cozy read, although the heroine is very prickly and resentful - sometimes painfully so. Her constant push-back at everything good did get a bit frustrating at times, but also fit in with her tumultuous past. Clara hasn

A fun read that slots into its own niche, and would probably be considered cozy-adjucent (there is quite a lot of swearing and detailed sex scenes). The vet related stuff is excellent - to my non vet-educated mind, it all sounded very convincing, and ...more
