If you're afraid to write a book, look at this: You already write emails, blogs, and forum threads and they are compelling because it's personal and real. But when you think of writing a book, you think it needs to be "good" - get over that fear. Books are convenient ways to spread ideas and stories. And my favorite stories are the ones most closest to real life. Our true selves. So be true to yourself in the best way you can. It's more inspiring to show how you overcame your challenges than to tell other people how to do it. (less)

I remember telling people in 2012 that I was no longer motivated to do anything anymore. In June of 2013 I began finding some hope and relief with meditation and habit change. I started waking up early every day to do focus on my happiness and things that I was curious about but never made time for. And a year later I felt like I had grown and learned so much! I had so much to share and I had to put what I knew into a book and share it so other people in my situation could benefit.(less)

The WordPress Drama has Made Me Reconsider My Website Rebuild

So if you remember, I was soooo obsessed with redesigning my website back in the spring. I wrote a bunch of posts about web design and WordPress, even considering going back to school for web design.

Well, that didn’t happen lol. I’ve completely neglected my website.

My rebuild is on hold for the time being because I feel like there’s a shakeup coming in WordPress land. Shit is going down

"Well, that was no revelation. It was an interesting and anecdotal read but a good deal meandering. The three stars are owed to my admiration of the author’s life’s work and thought."

“Wake up, show up.”
Jeff Finley

“level of success will seldom exceed your level of personal development.”
Jeff Finley, Wake Up: The Morning Routine That Will Change Your Life

“Wake up, show up.”
Jeff Finley

“When you realize that you can connect with the essence of true abundance in any moment… then not only will the dollars not matter to you, they’ll also flow to you in large amounts. That is the whole irony of it all — When you finally give up the need for something, what you were so needful for previously starts flowing to you in huge quantities. But you would no longer react to it in the same way with lust. You would react to this newfound reality in your life with grace and poise.”
Richard Dotts, Dollars Flow To Me Easily

“When we find ourselves in a midlife depression, suddenly hate our spouse, our jobs, our lives – we can be sure that the unlived life is seeking our attention. When we feel restless, bored, or empty despite an outer life filled with riches, the unlived life is asking for us to engage. To not do this work will leave us depleted and despondent, with a nagging sense of ennui or failure. As you may have already discovered, doing or acquiring more does not quell your unease or dissatisfaction. Neither will “meditating on the light” or attempting to rise above the sufferings of earthly existence. Only awareness of your shadow qualities can help you to find an appropriate place for your unredeemed darkness and thereby create a more satisfying experience. To not do this work is to remain trapped in the loneliness, anxiety, and dualistic limits of the ego instead of awakening to your higher calling.”
Robert A Johnson

“[...] we must recognize that in our own experience of emptiness, that even though one feels "empty", one must have a self in order to feel this emptiness; a loss cannot be felt unless what is missed is really a lost part of the self. Unwholeness is a feeling which belongs only to a being born whole and somehow denied access to this whole self. A being born "unwhole" would be whole in that partiality, happy with that cavernous state, and feel no emptiness, miss nothing, feel at home in a vacuum of identity. It is precisely because we have selves that we mourn.”
Susan Griffin, Pornography and Silence: Culture's Revenge Against Nature
