It is said that an old Chinese curse states "May you have an interesting life." I have. I wrote a book titled "Astoria Story" that is my journey which I hope you find entertaining and, perhaps, inspiring.

If you would like a small preview of what you will encounter withing the pages of "Astoria Story" please visit my blog, JuniMoon at http://www.junivjunimoon@blogspot.com

"The Amazing Canine Adventures of Harry Spotter"
and "The Everyday Adventures of Harry Spotter" chronicle the rescue and adoption of a real, live dog! Harry's adventures continue on his very own blog! Follow him on http://www.harryspottersblog.blogspot...

I have often wondered why this historical novel was never picked up by the film business, it would make a wonderful movie.
It is set in the late 19th Century, New York City, when Theodore Roosevelt was Police Commissioner. Being a native New Yorker myself, I found it fascinating to picture in my mind the city with dirt roads, horse drawn carriages and gas lights. So, that would be the "book world" I would like to visit.
This book is a murder mystery and the aim of the main characters is to get to the bottom of a crime spree. Mr. Carr also includes a strong (for the time period) female character, and I should like to either be that particular character or one much like her, helping to decipher clues and solve the mystery.
It is a compelling, atmospheric book that recreates a rich era in a cosmopolitan town that I think would be incredible to experience.(less)

I'm only sleeping....

Europe is enduring a "heat dome."  People are literally dying from the heat.  Hellish temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  Amazingly, here, while it is bloody hot, we are not sweltering as badly as areas north of us, such as Spain and France.

Our windows are shut, the curtains we have are drawn (due to the fact that the living room is not finished yet, there are only white sheers hanging).  T
