Scott Spangler earned his technical degree at DeVry Institute of Technology and BSBA at Rockhurst University. He has been writing for well over 35 years, finally publishing his first book: Portal to the Gods in 2005. He does his best to scribble on all his other projects in every free moment - particularly while sitting at soccer practices and other kid activities several days per week. When he isn’t writing, he is working out at the gym, or else spending hours upon hours doing genealogy research.

I just finished book 2 of "The War of the Twelve" series by Alex Robins. I'm currently halfway thru book 2 of "The Forgotten Fleet" series by Craig Andrews. I'll probably read book 3 of Robins and then book 3 of Andrews before moving onto something different.(less)

Q. What got you into writing?

A. Not to sound like a sob story, but much of that began with the divorce of my parents when I was in first grade. Up to that point I had always been an "outdoorsy" kid who spent all his time playing sports and being a rambunctous little boy. But following that life-altering change, I found myself drawn inwards more and more and I turned to more intellectual and creati Read more of this blog post »

Fantastic debut novel. The book is so well done that you wouldn't know it's his first. There isn't a ton of action for the first 3/4 of the book, but surprisingly that really doesn't detract that much from the story. He keeps it interesting on the in ...more
