Lila Devi (lee-lah day-vee) has authored 4 books spanning 4 different genres: The Essential Flower Essence Handbook (a holistic classic, published in 1996) and Flower Essences for Animals (a guide to help our beloved pets know the highest quality of life through natural pet care)—both in several languages and the texts for the SiNE Home Study Courses; and Bradley Banana and The Jolly Good Pirate, the first in a series of 20 children’s picture books, also in several languages, each personifying the uplifting quality of a flower essence as a little girl or boy.

Her latest book (June, 2015) is a spiritual memoir entitled From Bagels to Curry: A Jewish Yogi’s Account of the Passing of a Parent, with a universal message about life, death, family,

I try not to judge myself or to feel that every word has to be perfect. Most of my writing time is spent editing, like sculpting, until I'm really happy with what's been written. Sometimes I find it helps a lot to recall to mind the times when the writing really flowed; just the memory of those times helps to create the mindset to get in gear. Hope this helps!(less)

The Bagels Blog

My Dad and me

Dad didn’t want me to write about him when he was dying. Neither of us knew at the time that my journal would become a book.

When my family learned Dad was dying and I began writing, it was in my diary where I could air—freely, unedited, and un-judged—whatever I wanted to say about what I witnessed happening to him, my private thoughts and processing, and hence my own journey to cope, survive, and Read more of this blog post »

“Flowers are conscious, intelligent forces. They have been given to us for our happiness and our healing.

We can hasten our own evolution by through employing the tools offered to us by a conscious, caring Mother Nature—flowers and their essences.

Flower essences allow us to see into the soul of things—into ourselves, our world, and all living beings.

Flower essences are a response to the call of an ever-awakening humanity to minister to its spiritual needs.

Mother Nature’s pharmacy has long been accessible to those who have pried open her botanical medicine chest. And to those who wish to learn her language—the language of flowers—she bestows her most wonderful secrets of perfect well-being.

In keeping with herbalism’s ancient tradition of communing with the plant kingdom, flower essences have evolved as a natural expression of healing—in the simplest ways, through the simplest means.

(The) principle of magnetism is strongly operative in flower essences that vibrationally align us with the positive qualities that we seek to uncover within ourselves.

How, then, do flower essences work? Very well indeed.”
