When I worked at a candy shop in Southern Maine, I always used to imagine hiding in the basement storeroom from a dangerous criminal, because the air smells so good down there, but the lights sometimes flicker, and you can always hear footsteps overhead.
The library where I work now, in Viriginia, also has lots of nooks and crannies that would be fun for a suspense story. That would be good practice for my writing chops!(less)
