I've found that some of my best plot points get even better when I just allow the random items to flow out, usually through dialogue, until something new makes sense and I see the next point.

Of course, this usually means thousands and thousands of words get thrown out once I finally deal with the editing process, but although I may have fixed the blockage, the stuff I actually wrote isn't worth all that much itself.(less)

I suppose the best thing about being a writer is that I finally get things out of my head that have been swirling around in there for decades.

Do You Know Where Your Child Is (Mentally)?

The topic of mental health is one that has long been important to me. As someone who regularly struggles with his brain deciding to act out in ways which don’t appear to make any sense, as well as a family history of a wealth of different mental health issues, I find it a topic which crops up in my thinking all too often.

Obviously, the biggest concern many have when it comes to the topic of mental
