A two-book set, "Wessex Tales", 40 stories in 2 books. I grew up in an English village with an extraordinary history. "Histories travel many paths but only one direction," one of my characters says. Millennia came, passed away, and left their tales behind them: in forms such as fortifications dug in chalk hills, grave barrows, standing stones, the Roman occupation, Viking raids, the Norman invasion, the Black Death and modern worlds that followed after. This land—my land—is mystical, dear to me, long trodden by passions, by ghosts. Thus my subtitle: “Eight thousand years in the life of an English village”, condensed into 40 stories. (less)

“Q: Where does Music come from?
A: The same place as Silence.
Q: Why aren’t Music and Silence the same, then?
A: They are. It’s just that Music is a little louder.”
Robert Fripp

“The quality we bring to one small part of our life is the quality we bring to all the small parts of our life.

All the small parts of our life is our life.

If we are able to make one small act of quality, it wiil spread throughout the larger act of living.

This is in the nature of a quality - a quality is ungovernable by size and by the rules of quantity: a quality is ungovernable my number.

So, one small act of quality is as big as one big act of quality.

An act of quality carries intention, commitment and presence, and is never accidental.”
Robert Fripp

“History travels many paths but only one direction.”
