Two Covers, One Book
The paperback cover for NIGHT SHADOWS looked wonderful until it was reduced for the Kindle version. The spiral staircase looked more like seashells, and my name disappeared into the gray background. Big disappointment, and not something I was expecting. However, making lemonade out of lemons is my own particular specialty, and having the book going into pre-order on 2/10 for a 2/14/18 release date gave me a chance to decide what to do for the best.
What I decided on was a second cover for the Kindle version. It's darker in tone and appearance, with a night shot of a lighthouse, its beacon lit but not shining out across the headland, which reflects the fact that the lighthouse in this novel has been decommissioned for several years. I really like this cover, too.
What becomes evident when reading the book will be that both covers have significance within the pages.
