Some books are written to entertain, some to inform, some to make you laugh, some to make you cry. This one was written for all the above reasons but mostly because it is time for us to understand some very fundamental truths about what is happening in our nation, and hopefully we might all gain a bit of insight into the core of the problems we are facing. The book is fictional and hopefully the story will entertain; the facts contained within it however are all too true.
The story begins two years into the future, in the year 2013, a year I believe will be pivotal in our nation. It was written to give the reader an idea of where we are headed and just what steps have been taken that are propelling us in that direction.

It is a love story, a portrayal of the intense relationships and personality changes that occur due to the uncertainty, fear and chaos experienced by the characters involved. And even more importantly it is a story of Becca’s walk of faith and perseverance as she finds herself propelled on a journey she never envisioned taking.
I never intended to write a novel to begin with. One morning I simply went to post a comment to a friend on a political observation that she had posted and after writing my reply, I held my cursor above the icon to share my thoughts on the matter and it occurred to me that it was futile to do so. The thought that passed through my mind that morning was…”No, don’t do it…Put it in a book.” That was the morning I began to write.
The changes we have seen occur in our nation have been incremental and have been spaced out over an entire decade, thus making it difficult for us to grasp the full extent of what has been accomplished. One comment would only have been a mere glimpse into the problem and in no way would have been able to paint a picture of the complexity of the matter. I’ve found that it is similar to putting together a puzzle…until you get enough pieces of the puzzle in place it is impossible to see what the picture will be in the end.
I never had an outline for the story, never knew from day to day where the story might lead. Many nights I dreamed entire scenes and woke up in the morning and put what I had envisioned into words. As the story unfolded I was as surprised as you may be at the turns the story takes. That the years of research I had done were able to be woven into a story still leaves me astonished.
Monumental changes have occurred in the last decade in America that effect not only our economy, but also the way our government is functioning. It is true that the events of 9/1/1 changed everything and it is not by accident, nor is it unrelated to the troubles that are occurring in nations around the globe. We need only to look around the world at the violence erupting in country after country to get a glimpse of the core of the problem, and the outcome of our current plight.
Our family was hit by the economic tsunami as far back as 2004 when the automotive company my husband worked for moved its operations to Mexico.Since then over fourteen million jobs have left the country and countless thousands of businesses have folded due to the economic policies put in place.The breaking of our "bubble" was what propelled me to search for answers and the result of that search is Heil America Incorporated: We Didn't Think It Could Happen Here. ...more
