About Celtic Skies

Flynn Montgomery has just taken a new commission as the chieftan of O’Malley clan troops in Western Ireland. His cousin, Patrick MacCahan-O’Malley, is the Lord of the O’Malley clan; and they are expanding their shipping enterprise across the seas. Flynn is needed in O’Malley territory to lead the clan’s defense and military operations. O’Malley lands are far from his home in the Shiant Islands of Scotland. A highlander by descent, Flynn is well respected among his people, but unknown to the Irish clan he is bid to serve. Will the O’Malley clan grow to accept him as one their own?

Is someone stealing the MacCahan and O’Malley clan ships? The O’Malley Lord, his brother Payton, and Ruarc O’Connell, the former chieftan, must investigate the strange disappearance of three vessels and ensure the clan’s safety during their absence. Are there pirates on the sea, or could this be the work of a much darker force? Dervilla O’Malley has watched as her sister and friends have found love. Are the goddesses ignoring her? Is she destined to remain alone as most of the women of O’Malley territory; or will her knowledge of clan maps and nautical charts introduce her to a life she never imagined?

Celtic Steel Series, Book 2

Patrick MacCahan just became the new Laird of the O’Malley clan. His new position is met with many obstacles; including a tempestuous new wife, a two-decade long war with a neighboring village, a missing foster child and a pagan witch who overpowers the clan at every turn.

Parkin MacCahan’s life just got a lot more exciting. His older brother Patrick has married the eldest daughter of the O’Malley clan. His father is building a shipping empire off the coast of Northern Ireland. Parkin must oversee the operations and coordinate efforts between the O’Malleys and the MacCahans.
In order to dock at O’Malley port, Parkin and his men must sail past the legendary Island of Women. Will Parkin be able to withstand the temptation to trespass the legendary shore? Or will he be invited?

Kyra O’Connell has resided in O’Malley territory all of her life. As the niece of the late Laird Dallin O’Malley, and daughter of the clan’s chieftan, she has been part of the inner circle for as long as she can remember. When a spy is found among the villagers, Kyra is asked to take up residence on the Island of Women and to infiltrate their ranks as a spy herself.Celtic Shores

Celtic Storms - Amazon TOP SELLER in 3 Romance Categories - 5 STAR Reviews

Celtic Storms, Book 1 in the Celtic Steel Series is picking up more and more 5 Star Reviews on sites like GoodReads.com and Amazon!

Check out some of the comments:

GoodReads – 8 - 5***** Star Ratings!

Amazon – 8 – 5**** Star Reviews!

“What a FUN new author with a fabulous and well written storyline! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but found myself so pulled into the story that I HAD to finish it before I could move onto my daily “to-do’s”; needless to say I recommend doing any and all chores before starting it. I am very much looking forward to the next three books in the series that will come out throughout the Spring-late Summer…so glad I gave it a chance, Delaney, I believe you have the beginning of a very successful new career here!” ~ K. Memmott

“I thoroughly enjoyed Celtic Storms and am way past anticipating the second in the series. I have read historical romance for over twenty years and the way the author transformed the genre and included paranormal elements (witchcraft, ESP, druidism, shape-shifting, etc.) was impressive. Her characters were thoroughly developed and like-able; and most importantly, believable – even considering the type of book it was. I could relate to the story line well and had no need to “look anything up” – even though she used words I wasn’t completely familiar with – and was mindful to include language from the “day and time.”

I could tell right away I would enjoy the read; because the canter of the dialogue was so fresh and realistic – almost like I was there – watching it happen. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical romance with a paranormal twist and has a taste for adventure! I liked how she took her time in setting up the series with her first book – most authors write a second book as an after thought, and then spend too much time in the following books re-canting redundant information in a prologue or repeated chapters. I give this one a definite two thumbs up!” ~ A. Johnston

“As a history major – I was very entertained by this historical romance / suspense / paranormal adventure. There were so many little known facts regarding the culture and life during that time, that were included in this work that made it a joy to read. It’s apparent this author did her homework – and I look forward to the next in the series.” ~ S. Sinclaire

“Celtic Storms is the first book in a series of paranormal historical romance novels. It is set in the Scottish Highlands, and tells the story of Patrick, the first-born son of the leader of the MacCahan clan, who thinks he will never be able to lead a clan because of his unfortunate stammer – and Darina, the oldest daughter of a family of all girls, and next in line to be clan leader of her own clan, the O’Malley’s. They are to be married to forge a bond between the two clans and provide a male leader for the O’Malley clan, but neither is very sure of this arranged marriage at first. They must learn to trust each other, and in the process discover more about themselves and their family history.

I liked the characters a lot, and they seemed well thought-out. The story flowed fairly well, and even included some surprises I didn’t see coming! The cliff-hanger ending left me ready for the next book!” ~ L. Alexander

Celtic Storms remains in the top 50 BEST SELLING Books on Amazon in 3 Romance Categories. Check it out today:

Night Owl Reviews Interviews Author Delaney Rhodes

Check it out here:

Here is the body of the interview:

Feb 07, 2012

Current Release: Celtic Storms - Celtic Steel, #1

Describe your current release in two sentences?

Celtic Storms is a romantic suspense novel filled with mystery, villains, witchcraft, murder and heroes. Set in 15th century Ireland; it has all the elements of a highlander adventure along with the paranormal mystique found in the pagan religious symbolism of the time.

What was your childhood ambition?

I actually spent many years pursuing that dream and worked in the legal field for over twenty years. I never dreamed of writing fiction; although I've written plenty non-fiction projects. My husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday last August - and I've been hooked ever since. Of course, being the type-A personality that I am (and I'm also a Leo) I thought to myself - I can do that too!

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

I hate surprises - so I guess the future would be great - and bad all at the same tine. At least if I could travel to the future, when I come back and actually experience it the second time - it wouldn't be as much of a surprise.

Please describe your writing environment.

I tend to write about what I dream about. I draw inspiration from reading myself; as well as watching period films or movies. I love, love, love anything renaissance or otherworldly; and visionaries who have the ability to combine the two are my favorite. I make a deliberate effort to meditate before bedtime each evening on either the subject of a new scene I am writing or my desire for a new idea in my work; and it just so happens - when I sleep - I dream about what should be next in my story. It works every time.

What are you working on?

I am currently finishing up the second book in my Celtic Steel Series, Celtic Shores. It will have some definite surprises and twists most won't see coming. The scene digest for my third book, Celtic Skies is also coming along nicely.

Where do you want to travel?

I am planning a trip to Ireland this summer. My great grandfather was from Galway, Ireland and I have always wanted to visit there. Perhaps one day I will own my very own Irish castle!

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

Yes! I am so excited to be attending the RomCon 2012 Convention in Denver, Co this year in June. I am particularly looking forward to meeting all the wonderful romance novel fans and mixing and mingling with the hot male cover models. Yummy!

What has been the best way for you to engage readers? Face to Face / Chatting Online / Twitter / Facebook / Blogging

I've really enjoyed connecting with readers on Facebook - it's so easy to reach out and connect. I am hoping to schedule some actual chat sessions by subject matter in the future. I am also tinkering with the idea of having an advisory counsel assist on one of my future works - like having my fan base actually steer the story line. I think that would be a great experiment in creativity!

What is the best thing about being an author?

I'm still in my pajamas!

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

Gone with the Wind. My absolute favorite work to date. I would hope to be able to make a difference in the lives of people struggling for their own rights as well as the rights of others. To see our country during that time period would be most humbling.

Thank you so much for your interest in my work! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on my series.
