Although I was born in the great white north, in 1958, I grew up in the south, five minutes away from the USA border, in White Rock, BC.

I had tremendous fun on the beach and in the ocean. Not so much fun climbing up the hill to school every day. I vowed that when I grew up, I would live somewhere flat. So here I am in Ottawa, Ontario.

My other interests are window shopping, genealogy and walking, swimming and some very amateur dancing in the kitchen.

Boy's Own

A lot of my characters are young boys. In The Mountain City Bronzes, Kevin and his father tell their stories as children. In Beggar Charlie, Charlie tells of him and two other boys trying to find their way home. The story I'm working on presently is titled, The Last Words Of Edward Broome. In it, Albert tells his story. None of these boys are over fourteen. Yes, I'll answer the question befor Read more of this blog post »

Scary History

This man was a demon with little to disguise him. He murdered and terrorized millions of his people. Long overdue book about one of the worst tyrants the world has produced.

Nice

A good little story with some excitement. It took me a while to connect with Gemma. But Suling was an interesting character. The backdrop of the earthquake makes for a delicious semi climax.

Old Teller is a great tale of a bit and dog in Pioneer days. The characters are well drawn and it'll always be tear jerking at the end.

Heart of a Lioness

We meet Madame Roland in this book. An educated, confident, and headstrong woman who is guillotine in the revolution. She writes this memoir in her cell. She brags a bit as she tells her story. Interesting to readers of history.
