I did not set out to be an author. I set out to survive. For most of my adult life, I carried the weight of a childhood I had never fully named. I went to work. I became a mother. I built a career in human resources because I have always believed, with everything in me, that every person is valuable. And underneath all of that, I was living with wounds I did not yet have words for.

When I received my diagnosis of Complex PTSD in adulthood, something shifted. Not because the diagnosis fixed anything, but because it told me the truth about what I had been carrying. My struggles were not a character flaw. They were not evidence that I was too broken to be loved by God. They were the result of early childhood trauma, rooted in abuse, passed thr

Not as a slogan and not as a guarantee that it will be easy or fast or that it will look the way you imagined. But as a lived, documented, honest truth from a woman who did not believe it herself for a very long time. The diagnosis is not the end of the story. The trauma is not the definition. For the woman who has been told she is too sensitive, too reactive, too much, and has quietly started to believe it. For the woman who loves God and goes to therapy and still wonders, somewhere in the back of her mind, whether she is allowed to need both. For the mother who is watching patterns she recognizes from her own childhood beginning to surface in her family and does not know how to stop them. I wrote them for the woman I was before I had the language for any of this. If she picks up one of these books and feels, for the first time, genuinely understood, then I have done what I set out to do.(less)

Trampling the Snake: Continuing the journey of faith and healing

I'm thrilled to announce my second book, Trampling the Snake is now available!

After the overwhelming response to Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, I knew there was more of this story to tell. While my first book focused on rediscovering my identity in Christ, this new release explores inner child work and breaking generational trauma.

Both books stand alone, but together they offer a complete picture Read more of this blog post »
