S.W. Lothian is an Australian author who creates edge-of-your-seat adventures that are great reads for all ages. His books range from those that thrill young adult readers with intrigue, drama, and suspense, to those that launch teens into exciting settings and action-filled mysteries while reminding older readers of their childhood dreams.

His new SUBWAY series explores a new level of tension and intrigue. Set in a dystopian New York City, it’s not too far removed from where we are today. The plot is a thought-provoking thriller and aims to be a new favorite for young adult fans of such greats as The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner.

The idea behind his highly successful debut middle-grade series, AXEL RHODES, was inspired by S.W’s own child

Hi Carley,
I'm so pleased that you like my covers. Great feedback always makes me feel good. I do design and create all of my own covers, but I source images and fonts that fit with my vision and blend them into a cohesive cover. I'd love to have the tools to create everything myself. It's on my wishlist. My dream as a kid was to be a graphic designer.
Thanks for taking the time to ask :)(less)

Thanks for such positive feedback. It's nice to know that someone likes them. I've always been interested in graphic design, so when it comes to my book covers I love creating them. I just use a generic software which I've taught myself to use over the past few years. It's all a matter of having a clear vision and giving the design plenty of depth. In the redesign of my Time Square covers I wanted the main text to have a vintage feel to compliment the cogs of time. After some research and a bit of trial and error, I was very happy with the final distressed metal finish.(less)

Angels and Demons (Robert Langdon 1) – Dan Brown

This Angels and Demons re-read has reinforced how much I loved this book the first time. The thriller ride through the beautiful city of Rome is the stuff of which great books are made. Recommended for fans of thriller books that build on history with a gripping plot and provide fast-paced action. Drop by for my full review.

Enjoyable but not incredible

A collection of short stories that skim around the world of Scythes. Some more enjoyable than others. Not as addictive as the original trilogy but entertaining enough.

Thanks for your kind encouragement CD. I hope she enjoys the book. It's full of plenty of adventure. Quest Two should be out in June sometime.
Great idea to encourage her to do reviews. I follow a blog that is done by a kid who is about 11. In case you are interested in showing your daughter here is the link .... http://thiskidreviewsbooks.com/
Cheers

C.D. Sweitzer It's great that you're taking this opportunity to write children's fiction--I think at some point I'd like to take a break from adult fiction and write a few adventure stories. I'm planning to get Golden Scarab for my daughter to read over summer break, and have her practice writing a review (why not have kids write reviews in their own words?). Best of luck, and have fun with this (if nothing else, it's a nice bit of legacy to leave for kids, grandkids, etc.).
