“Tell me something good about your life," I whispered, needing to hear that he wasn't as broken as I thought him to be.
Peter breathed into the handset for about two minutes. I began wondering if he was about to hang up, or had fallen asleep, when he answered. "You."
It was so quiet I almost didn't hear it. And then he hung up before I could ask him to repeat himself.
I fell asleep, grinning, with the phone still clutched in my hand and my milk souring on the coffee table.”

“Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead,
Put crêpe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;

I just finished Shattered Glass last night it is by far one of my favorite books. Cannot wait for the sequels.
Hi Dani. Just read the blurb of NSI on slashfiction. I really can't wait for this one. Though it will be hard to share Cai with Riley! How many years are they apart?
Hi Dani! Thanks so much for accepting the friend request! I just finished reading "Shattered Glass" and it was absolutely great! I loved the different relationships between all the characters and any book that makes me laugh out loud is a keeper. Can't wait for Cai's book. He's such a sweetheart. Thanks for creating these awesome guys :)
Thanks for accepting the friendvite just finished Shattered Glass and loved it! Any idea on when Not So Innocent will be coming out?
I see you cleaned up quite well at the m/m awards. You deserve every one. Hats off to you my friend.
Congrats on Shattered Glass winning Best Debut Book in the M/M Group Book Awards! I'm so happy for you!
Hi there! Totally random, but can I have the password to your protected entries on slashfiction? Pretty please? -bats eyes- :)
Kate wrote: "Snort-laughing here! Poor Taylor. She probably thought you were a kind, sweethearted guy. Well, now she knows better. ^.^ And Taylor! See what your psycho profile pic does to people? Brings..."
She's right, Dani! Be more careful not to threaten anyone with a Kathy Bates profile pic. I could go #1 fan on your ass.
Wait, wait. I'm supposed to be reigning in the crazy here, not making it worse...
Dani wrote: I won't let them do that. Instead, I'll have them pin you in a room and read the stories to you while your hands are bound and there's no way to TUNE IT OUT!That's just how I roll. (read: stalkery and pyscho)
Shit, I hope that was meant for Kate. :-/
Kate wrote: "Please no Dani, no more corrupting people on my friends list with Sterek porn. Please, please, please don't do it. *sobs piteously*Taylor, are you friends with Aiko? She has probably got the ..."
This all started because few months back, Dani was pimping Sterek hardcore. I look up TW and I thought, 'Oh, I have to see these two boys make out. How cool of MTV to finally get that progressive.'
Needless to say, 24 episodes later, there's no 'gay for you' transformation and I've just sat through almost two seasons of the most terrible show on TV.
Then Dani mentions he was talking about fanfic. So yeah, I think he owes me a good one. I'll check the freeloaders page too though, thanks.
So I'm giving in, and I'd like to try some good Sterek fan fic. I know you must have a rec for me!Pretty please :)
Thanks for the friend add. I really liked Austin and Peter's book...I thought book two was already out :) darn darn darn!!!!!!
YAY!!! Shattered Glass is in the semi-final round of the Goodreads Choice Awards in the Romance category. Congratulations Dani!
I just came across your bio, and I have to say I'm really disappointed we're all missing out on some Dave Gahan action! You didn't really burn it, did you? Nah, you didn't.
Dani, I've read that NSI is coming out Fall 2012. It's fall here in Germany now, so where is it?! lolI wanna get my little hands on this so bad. and on Cai ;P
Ohmydearlord...watching Shameless. Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of this one. I'm having a blast while watching tv, can't remember last time that happened :D
Always welcome at my party. And the black eye was from Darryl, who did not appreciate being called "an old prissy queen".
*hands over half eaten chocolate bar* sorry..all I had stashed away. Can I still come to your party?
Kate wrote: "PARTAY!!!I hear rumors that Austin smut is going on and we're all invited! *hands over the chips and barges in*"
No Austin smut, just him and his filterless mouth =P And, as usual, a black eye.
Dani wrote: "Quick Lenore, you and me hop a redeye to *insert place because I'm too lazy to look at Kate's city* somewhere Pueget Sound and find her and lock her in the cellar! Without internetz! And no sneaky tablet either! "Oh Dani. I don't know where to begin about the ordeal I went through last night! While I was typing a reply to your message and booking air tickets to Sweden (I multi-task, you know), Kate sneaked up on me like Batman or Spiderman, or the Green Lantern (or some other spandex-clad superhero) and she knocked me unconscious with a hypodermic needle.
My ears are still ringing from her evil laugh.
I woke up hours later and I realized I was gagged and tied to a tree in her back yard in Washington. She was standing across from me brandishing a huge kitchen knife (even bigger than those of Chef Ramsey!) and she said she would keep me there gagged and tied up until she made sure Sterek lost to Destiel and then she would cut me into tiny tiny pieces and feed me to her evil cats!
She was terrifying, I tell you! *whimpers*
I managed to free myself using some tricks I'd seen in MacGyver as a child—involving tree leaves and spit—while she was inside fixing dinner. It was a very narrow escape because the moment I stepped away from the tree I felt that kitchen knife of hers swoosh by my ear.
I made it back in one piece and I've been voting for Sterek like a woman possessed since then, managing to put them back in the lead! *pumps fist*
So, yeah. That's why I didn't reply to your message sooner.
Kate wrote: "Coyote is both Trickster and Creator or Creator-like god in a lot of AmIndian mythologies. He injects randomness and discord, questioning, rebalance of power, the unexpected weirdness or problem. ..."Aha! That's pretty cool. Meh, I should probably learn more about stuff like that, but most of my dad's family were more of the drunk-and-stoned variety than the spiritual ones. (which is probably why I had so much fun as a teenager =D)
Kate wrote: "Hah! Rage!Dani has never commented on my cultural appropriation of dreaming Coyote. One just has to be sly and sneaky about these things...kind of like Coyote now that I think about it. :) "Cultural appropriation doesn't bother me when I know the writer/person respects the culture. It usually just makes me roll my eyes.
The whole boxing us into being these spiritual people with connections to our ancestors and lots of "spirit guide" references just drives me up the WALL.
Meh. I always think people mean well, even when they portray us wrong. Doesn't help me refrain from the rage, but it doesn't make me hate the writer.
Explain this whole Coyote thing though. I think I missed it lol.
Lenore wrote: "Weasel wrote: "Yeah, I admit, I'm leery of the potential Native-American stereotypes"Exactly. Maybe Dani can read it. He should be able to judge if it's done well."
I think I've read one m/m book with Native American characters--but I am writing one so. I get REALLY pissed off a the stereotypes and end up throwing stuff.
I like the one Willa Okati wrote though for some anthology. The story was okay, but I liked that the characters weren't cardboard AmIndians.
I read all these blurbs and back cover copy with the "wolf/bear/*insert woodland Disney creature*" spirit blah blah shifter. Rage!Dani makes his appearance.
Kate wrote: "LOL. Will Dani ever get to his TBR?. That is the question."
I will! Before I'm dead, anyway.
Weasel wrote: "Yeah, I admit, I'm leery of the potential Native-American stereotypes"Exactly. Maybe Dani can read it. He should be able to judge if it's done well.
Weasel wrote: "Look, Dani, they stole your man!http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15..."
DAMN! That's Peter!
So Im halfway through season 2 of Teen Wolf, and I realize Sterek isn't real. There is no way they are actually going to hook up. Why u no tell me this??
