Alan’s stories draw on a wealth of personal and professional experience. He has worked as a chemical engineer designing large chemical plants; a financial planner, investment syndicator and owner of a brokerage firm; a consultant and policy analyst for dozens of state and federal agencies (including the Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Justice, Department of Education, and the National Institutes of Health) and international organizations (including the World Bank).
