Questions? Questions. Questions!
This week, in anticipation of BoucherCon 2017 Toronto (a city close to my heart), I'll be taking any and all questions, whether about my fiction, fiction in general, journamalism, or the Blue Jays chances to make the playoffs in 2018.
Also, if you're going to be at BoucherCon, let me know and also come say hello.
Thanks,
Adam

This Is Fun
When you enter the Caesura program, a.k.a. "The Blinds," you get a new identity and you have to choose a new name for yourself. Your new name must be a combination of a) an iconic movie star (for familiarity) and b) an ex-Vice-President (for anonymity).
One of the most fun things about writing my new novel, THE BLINDS was coming up with the names for each character: Calvin Cooper, Charlie Dawes, Buster Ford, Fran Adams, and so on.
Now you can have a "Blinds" name of your very own, with this Blinds Name Generator from the mad geniuses at Ecco Press.
Go ahead. Give it a try. Just take it from me, Harry Harlow — it's addictive.

File Under: Happy News
Early reviews are coming in for THE BLINDS, and here's a good one: A starred review from the good people at Booklist:
The Blinds bears "what has become this very talented novelist’s signature: a knack for finding humanity and passion in otherwise flattened, soul-killing landscapes.... Cleverly improvising on the chord changes common to classic westerns (especially High Noon) and evoking the locked-room horror of Jim Thompson’s The Getaway, Sternbergh shows again why he is one of the most inventive thriller writers working today."
You can read the whole thing here.

Good People of Goodreads: You can enter RIGHT NOW to win a free copy of my new novel THE BLINDS, which will be published on Aug 1.
Be the envy of your friends and neighbors! Or, if you are already the envy of your friends and neighbors (and you know you are, admit it) reinforce your impeccable taste and trend-setting style with a copy of the book Dennis Lehane calls "witty, electrifying, vivid, and thoroughly original.”

The Uses of Darkness: A Conversation With Alex Segura
The crackerjack novelist Alex Segura was kind enough to interview me for his newsletter, Stuff & Nonsense.
We talked Jim Thompson, Alan Moore, scum and villainy, Hell or High Water, Sean Connery's Outland, and how to write a crime novel while also working a strenuous day job and parenting a tiny human child.
Have a look!
As always, questions/thoughts/comments are welcome, either here or at my personal site, where I cross-posted the Q&A.
