I was once part of the Navy. Upon my graduation from West Chester State College, currently West Chester University, I joined the armed forces and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

After being discharged from the service, I moved to Pennsylvania and began my career in teaching. It was also the time when I married my most beloved wife and raised my children in a 300-year old farm house.

When I retired from my career, I began my plans of enjoying my time with my family, spend more time in doing my hobbies and interests while accomplishing my publishing dreams. If you're interested to get to know me better, then come and visit my site for more details.

Letters from the Home Front (Part I)

Letters from the Home Front (Part I)Children grew up fast during the American Civil War as they were forced to endure hardships and take on adult responsibilities. Under pressure from the war, some children joined the army to become drummer boys. Some decided to become powder monkeys in the navy. And some decided to stay home and take care of their families after their fathers and brothers went to join the army.

“For Blake, the news was as a storm that tore him apart. How dare an enemy soldier hurt his father, how could an enemy soldier kill his father. This just could not have happened. He would have to do something about it. He would have to avenge his father’s death. Yes, he would go to the war and kill that soldier.”
J. Arthur Moore, Blake's Story, Revenge and Forgiveness

“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.”
C.S. Lewis

J. Arthur Moore, Blake's Story, Revenge and Forgiveness

“Where did feelings go when they disappeared? Did they leave a chemical trace somewhere in our minds, so that if we could look inside ourselves we would see via the patterns of neurons some of the important things that had happened to us in our lifetimes?”
Evelyn Lau, Inside Out: Reflections on a life so far

“Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect.”
Margaret Mitchell

“I stood still, vision blurring, and in that moment, I heard my heart break. It was a small, clean sound, like the snapping of a flower's stem.”
Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber
