Thanks for your question. Much as I love the Schuyler Sisters (indeed, the whole Schuyler family is fascinating), I think I've said as much as I can about them. There are some open questions about parts of their history, which I've drawn attention to in the end-notes; and maybe an enterprising and curious reader will want to explore those — maybe even write a whole other book about them! However, I'll never say never; I ended up revisiting some of the characters from EVERYBODY WAS SO YOUNG in HOTEL FLORIDA, and telling Jerome Robbins's life story all over again from his own point of view when I edited his writings in JEROME ROBBINS: BY HIMSELF. So you never know!(less)

“Next year, however, the legislators who witnessed Hamilton’s speech from the gallery will pass a new libel law, allowing truth as a defense to a libel charge “where published with good motive and for justifiable ends.” And sixteen years later, in 1821, this principle will be incorporated into New York’s second constitution. Hamilton, though, won’t be there to see it.”
