Why I Started The Herbal Odyssey

I never planned to write a book.

What I did plan—somewhere between the forest trails of British Columbia and the overgrown ruins of a monastery in southern Italy—was to listen. To the earth. To the whispers of old traditions. To the scent of a herb crushed between thumb and forefinger. This is how The Herbal Odyssey began: not with ambition, but with reverence.

For decades, I collected notebooks filled with fragments—local remedies from Balkan shepherds, stories of Amazonian bark-healers, Ayurvedic pulse readings whispered in Sanskrit. They weren’t just "uses of plants". They were philosophies. Living systems. Entire ways of being.

And I kept wondering—why is all this wisdom scattered like lost breadcrumbs across continents and generations? Why hasn't someone tried to gather it in a way that's accessible, practical... yet still poetic?

So I became that someone.

The Herbal Odyssey is not an encyclopedia. It's a journey. A narrative through cultures, leaves, roots and resilience. It’s a tribute to what humans have always known: that nature heals, if only we let it.

This collection is my attempt to gather the embers of ancient firelight and place them gently in your hands. So that whether you're a curious herbalist, a tired soul seeking gentler answers, or just someone who still believes stories have power—you'll find something here that stirs you.

I’m honored to share it with you.

→ Read Volume I – Ancient Europe, now available on Amazon and Goodreads. Let the journey begin.
