A fantasy, nonexistent world it is, but I wanted it to feel so realistic and familiar to readers.

Character development was basically a go-with-the-flow process. There were some characters that I had already in mind and how their personalities were shaped but mainly I would put myself in the character's shoes, pause, and ask Marlin's question "What would Dory do?" What would the character do is the main driver for each character's next step. I also delved more into their personality types, cognitive functions, and even their zodiac signs to understand and express them better and more authentically. (less)

The Art of Coming to The Light

Since it is the release of my first fantasy novel and almost-a-lifetime project, I would like to sip some tea with you about the onerous effort it took to get it there.

I applaud the daring types of people who take risks before chances; without further or much ado they jump head or leg first onto whatever their hearts feel doing. It's a skill whose possession saves its owner the regret of his life Read more of this blog post »

First time for me to experience "internal crying" in a literal sense. While turning the pages of the last two chapters, I was like, "No, no, Christie, don't do this." and it's a first for me to actually resist a book's ending like this.

“Sometimes a human's capacity to comprehend answers is below the required minimum, and most times the backstage is enigmatically overwhelming”
M.K. Ramadan, Stories Told & Untold: 1st edition

“What about dying with the endless guilt of killing oneself for someone whose soul would not buy me a pair of farm boots? if there was one thing or one worthy person, I would have sold my soul long ago. Sometimes one will reach the juncture when it is a must to step on others to go ahead, and maybe killing will be the easiest solution to spare the headache of cooking up excuses for that other person just to move on.”
M.K. Ramadan, Sapphire Sorcerer

“Don't take me for granted, Your Majesty. I may not tread here again. Your refusal puts you immediately on my blacklist.”
