Deborah Carney has been a freelance photographer for over 35 years, covering events, weddings and cat shows, in addition to macro and general nature photography. Her cat photographs were published by T.H.F. publications in two of their cat breed books, one about American Shorthairs and the other featuring the Sacred Cat of Burma.

Additionally, as a prolific photographer with an eye for details, she will be publishing a number of books that are photo based with information about the photographs in them. The ability for these photos to now be able to be enjoyed in color on eReaders and eReader apps has inspired her to create a multitude of books on a large variety of subjects.

Her favorite subjects to photograph are butterflies, hummingbirds an

Jon Krakauer
“I now walk into the wild.”
Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

Scott Kelby
“If you've taken a photo with your camera's pop-up flash, you're probably wondering how camera manufacturers list pop-up flash as a feature and keep a straight face. It's probably because the term "pop-up flash" is actually a marketing phrase dreamed up by a high-powered PR agency, because its original, more descriptive, and more accurate name is actually "the ugly-maker.”
Scott Kelby, The Digital Photography Book

J.R.R. Tolkien
“I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair

I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see

For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green

I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago
And people that will see a world
That I shall never know

But all the while I sit and think
Of times there were before
I listen for returning feet
And voices at the door”
J.R.R. Tolkien

Nathaniel Hawthorne
“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne

Maya Angelou
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
Maya Angelou

Jesse Hanson Thanks for including me among your goodreads friends, Deborah. I want to wish you the very best with your books and in all ways. Buddha Beach sounds like something that will resonate with people.
I hope you will also take a minute to check out my spiritual allegory, Song of George: Portrait of an Unlikely Holy Man. It's fiction but was inspired by events from my life. Namaste, jesse
