I am the mother of 3 grown sons and have been writing since I was 9 years old.

I was born and raised in Altoona, PA, but have lived in Atlantic City, NJ; Dallas, TX; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dublin and Galway City, Republic of Ireland; and London, England. I recently returned to the USA after a 26 year absence.

I am pagan and choose my political candidates by the individual rather than the party.

In addition to writing ~ and reading! ~ I enjoy computer activities, camping, kayaking, and gentle hiking.

I am the creator of a Facebook group for writers called Masters & Mistresses of Seduction.

When I'm suffering it (and I believe every author does), I work through plot twists or rework previous portions of the book. I know many writers say you must face it down; force yourself to write at least a bit each day. I find, however, when I force it in that way, what I produce is thrown away later as completely lacking in passion.(less)

I thought of being an actress for a while. But that wasn’t enough. As an actress, you speak the lines written for your character and follow the guidance of the director. I’ve never had a problem sinking into a character. But, as a writer, I am god. I invent the character. I know her thoughts and feelings. I write the words she will speak and the actions she’ll take. I scout the locations and design the sets. I give her friends and enemies and I know their thoughts and feelings, too. I put it all together and I rework it until it’s not only as entertaining and diverting as I can make it but also as real. I’ve been doing that, in one way or another, since I was nine years old,' she’d told him."(less)

GLOBAL CHICKEN LITTLES

What’s happening on social media has been bothering me for a long time.   Although I’ve alluded occasionally to the personal feelings of frustration and anxiety caused by it, I haven’t written much about it.  Now that it’s spilling out onto the streets of the “real world” big time, however, I believe I need to try harder.
The first time I noticed it, about eight years ago, the “crime” was perpe Read more of this blog post »
