Kait Carson writes the Hayden Kent Mysteries, set in the Fabulous Florida Keys, and is at work on a new mystery set in her adopted state of Maine. Her short fiction has been nationally published in the Trues and Woman’s World magazines and has appeared in the Silver Falchion Award-nominated Seventh Guppy Anthology Hook, Line, and Sinker. Her nonfiction essay was included in the Agatha Award-winning book Writing the Cozy Mystery. My view is of a wooded lot, but when I look out the window, all I see are the images in my mind. I love natural light, although my best writing time is in the dark.

My desk is my favorite place to write. There's something about sitting in this chair at this desk that tells me it's time to get down to the business of creating. That said, I'm prone to scribble on anything (my own palm included) when ideas strike.(less)
