I read your book The Rescue Team, and i Really liked it. Then to my younger brother (he's 5) and he loved it! He wanted to know, why you wrote it, and i wanted to know too! So are question is, what inspired you to write this story?

I'm happy to hear that you and your brother both enjoyed "The Rescue Team." To answer your question: Ellie, the dog in the story, is based upon my own dog, who is also named Ellie. She has always loved rescuing small animals and has even brought me injured rabbits, like the dog in the story. As far as the character, Toby, goes, I thought it would be cool to include a cat in the story. I think cats are really awesome animals and don't get enough credit for how smart they are. Once I had the characters developed, the story evolved around them and I ended up with "The Rescue Team."

“Rebecca pulled a patient’s folder out of the plastic bin that hung on the back of the exam room door. The Animal Friends Veterinary Clinic had two examination rooms. Typically, while she saw one patient, June would get the next one settled into the other exam room.
