Ryan Basen

I am studying for a PhD in Physical Cultural Studies with the University of Maryland's Kinesiology Department. I take classes, conduct research per my independent study, and work as a teacher's assistant.

I have written books aimed at preteens, including sports biographies and special topics, for Red Line Editorial (2006-present). I also composed a couple of reports for the NPR affailiate WFAE-FM in Charlotte, and wrote features for the regional monthly Charlotte Magazine (2009-2010).

During the 2009 NFL season, I wrote a fantasy football blog and covered the Carolina Panthers for the professional blog site SB Nation (2009 season). ...more
