What happened? In my experience the story, to an outsider, is often...we, silly. To an outsider -- of course, for the person, it is deeply painful, and I get that. But, what if there were more to the story. What if there were a deeper mystery that the person is covering up? I'm thinking of starting a cozy series (my current series is sort of mixed mystery genre, cozy, suspense, horror, paranormal) where two detectives, a retired man and wife, are hired to find the true reason behind these estrangements. The detectives travel to different locations to find the truth. Of course, who these detectives are is still in the works!(less)

That would normally mean 2-3 months, but I have a family issue, so it might be 6 months. The working title is "Premonition." Cotton Lee's friend is killed while hunting, and she finds fifteen gold coins minted by the United States Treasury in 1862 in his hunting satchel. As it turns out, the truth is hidden back in Civil War times, when the coins were brought south by a Yankee soldier who fell in love...

Fishing in South Florida

I don't know what it is...the water, the air, the fresh breeze...but West coast of Florida is a dream for fishing. I love scooting in and out of the mangroves of Pine Island or Lemon Bay in my pedal kayak with my line in the water.

Great spots for fishing on Pine Island are off Tropical Point, the South end of the Island (you have to launch from a canal), and Matlacha Park.  We catch a few fis

“He’s smart, kinda, in his own way…like his father. His father was the smartest boy in his class. I thought the dad would be an engineer, but he took to alcohol, like a lot of these Indians…got angry…was hard on his son. Mormons don’t drink, you know.”

“You know, there are certain disabilities that make social skills a problem. Autism is one of them. Erik needs to be taught how to make eye contact, and what to say in a conversation with other teachers or students.”
Tower Lowe, In Dulce, Disturbed

“It’s not easy teaching these Native kids. They don’t really want an education.” “That seems unlikely,” I insist. “Kids usually want to learn, but sometimes they’re not motivated.” I get back to Erik. “Is he seeing anyone for his social skills?  Or is someone helping him understand how to focus on academics in a distracting classroom?”
