Jane K. Callahan is a end-of-line doula and writer from Brooklyn, NY. For nearly a decade, Jane has worked with dying people and their families through hospice volunteering and through her own private practice in Durham, NC. She is certified by the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine, trained with the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) and holds a proficiency badge from the National End of Life Doula Alliance (NEDA). Jane also serves on the board of directors for the National Funeral Consumers Alliance-North Carolina. I loved this book. I felt really unprepared in terms of going through the legal logistics of a parent's death, and I also can't afford a lawyer for unlimited consultation--so this book was a great primer in that regard. It is written conversationally ...more
