Maybe Tonight wins a Swirl Award!
Yesterday I found out that my novella, Maybe Tonight, won the Best Short Novel category for the Swirl Awards . How great is that? :D
When I first started my serial novella idea last year, a lot of people didn't seem to understand that the first five chapters were only the beginning. It didn't help that Amazon made it difficult for people to get the new chapters.
Some people thought it was just a retelling of the same events from Maybe Baby. And while there is an overlap, Maybe Tonight goes deeper into the story as we learn *why* Mads pursued Laney...and we learn a little more about Laney as we see her through Mads's eye.
I am so happy and grateful that many readers understood what Maybe Tonight was all about and stuck with it! Thank you for supporting the Maybe... series and for loving Laney and Mads as much as I do. Thanks for always being so encouraging--especially when my evil inner critic sits on my shoulder telling me to do something more practical.
I love my readers! You are all stars! :)

Maybe Forever Wins 2016 Swirl Awards - Best Women's Fiction
Yesterday as I was working on a new project, I received an email that really made my day. Maybe Forever, the third book the the Maybe... series, was announced as the winner of the 2016 Swirl Awards for the category Best Women's Fiction. I am still reeling from the news. This is my second straight Swirl Awards win--last year, Maybe Tonight won the Best Short Novel category.
One thing is certain: I am grateful for all of you who've been so supportive of my writing, who've helped spread the word about my books and who've written reviews, who've sent me email telling me how much they love my stories, or friended me on Facebook... who've been so patient because sometimes I am a slow writer. :)
I am grateful for all of this and more. Thank you for being so awesome. :)
