Outer Red Part Four is nearly ready for launch!
The finale of this book is coming at long last!
Been a long time, let me tell ya. I broke this book up into four parts on purpose, and after––what, like ten/eleven years later––I'm done.
So glad I managed to bring a conclusion to this story arc, it put a smile on my face once I got the last chapter’s end. Not sure if I’ll do a giveaway on goodreads. The last one was abysmal for any sort of feedback, reviews… or comments at all. Which was surprisingly bizarre.
Anyway, I’ve done the edits, reading though now, and doing a few final checks.
Hopefully I’ll have a Nov/Dec release time here.

Stay Professional: Reviewers vs. Authors
Okay, there seems to be a bit of a flame war going on with a few authors and reviewers of late. I don't understand the need to thrash out at each other on social media when and if it happens. Seriously people, enough already.
First off, let me just say that I do not encourage authors to reply to those that review your books in a negative light, just don't do it... period. You'll never get that person to change their view or become sympathetic to your ego in that moment. Trust me.
Secondly, for all you reviewers, don't talk about that person or rant publicly about what the author did. That's equally unprofessional. If the author lashed out... ignore them, they're obviously very insecure about their writing or haven't kept their ego in check for awhile.
I do not respond to reviewers that gave negative reviews. I don't really respond to those that do give good ones as well... but, if it was favourable, I can just give them a mention of thanks and leave it at that. Reviews are there to be helpful to the reader to decide on whether or not to choose your book. I would prefer them all to be in-depth and carefully worded as to not sound harsh. But, many are very passionate about sharing their opinion.
So are writers, apparently.
There needs to be a line both author and reviewer need to make. Authors want the review, of course, but we shouldn't be scolded on a personal level... just the book itself. And authors need to understand, that not all people will agree on your writing or storytelling ability. That's call individuality, and we humans have a lot of it.
Look, if an author rants on you about the review.... just be the bigger person and ignore them, or block them. And if you have to give a negative review... just let it be on the book and not the person themselves. Don't stoop down to a level that will obviously infuriate the writer. That's just asking for trouble. I know some authors are very defensive about their 'vision' and tend to puff out their chest when someone says "I don't like it", but there are fewer of them than you think.
The one thing I don't like is seeing that get plastered on social media. I'm not proud to admit it, but I did do that once, and I learned to just let it be. Stay professional in any thing you do. That's my advice. I hold that to be true now. If you like my work, fantastic, if you don't... well, I'll get over it. Cause that's just one person out of how many else that thought otherwise, right?
Just needed to get this off my chest.
Not a rant, but a concerned voice for peace amongst authors and reviewers.
Much thanks,
Jeff W.

Science fiction must be the hardest to find reviews, I guess?
Twice I’ve posted a book on goodreads for review, and all I’ve gotten are those asking for money for it. Not all reviewers mind you, those that know NOT to ask authors for PAID reviews (that’s a big no-no on Amazon), but generally more than I would like responding. Science fiction gets me the least amount of queries, while romance and non-fiction get tremendous amounts.
I know they are the dominant genres, but man, where are all the sci-fi readers? Perhaps they’ve been flooded with books and are too engrossed to take on any more, or maybe, they’ve become overtly selective on which sub genre they wish to read. Either way, finding reviewers for sci fi has become problematic. Well, for me it has anyway, I have no cash for services or paying for adverts galore, I can’t even afford to join a virtual book tour or on Goodread’s giveaway.
Free ebooks for reviews is all I can offer. In this time of COVID uncertainty and social upheaval, I guess many are in a similar bind. If that’s the case then please forgive me harping on this subject. Frustration is setting in and I’m at a loss on what to do next.
Pardon my rant,
Stay safe everyone!

Coming to the end again....
Well, Christmas is on its way... I hope many of you will stay safe and remember to keep your distances when shopping for gifts. I’ve been busy writing stories, or at least tending to the many I need to.
Book 1 of The Mysterious World Of Professor Darkk And Miss Shadow is progressing... slowly. It’s going to be a long book for me to write. I’m hoping those that are fans or have read/listened to the short trilogy that came out will pick up a copy of the completed collection. It had more adventures in it and gives a lead way into the first series of novels.
I’m nearly ready to launch my sci fi drama Your Service Is Required. Two Artificial intelligent computers take over humanity and make us their slaves. I’m hoping for a December release, but we’ll see.
I’ve begun the final part for Outer Red, that will be later in 2021 I’m afraid.
And three sci fi books are in the process as well for 2021. So yeah I’m doing my best to get it going for all you readers out there.
I’m going to launch a title reveal on Twitter Nov. 21 st for book 1 of TWOPAMS, and then a cover reveal Dec. 19th on Twitter, My Facebook page, Instagram and possible on YouTube (if I have time to put it together).
I’m also busy trying to think of recreating my webpage. I want to see if I can streamline it and without so many pages to click on. Give me some feedback on what you would like to see on it. Character interviews? Monthly short stories or works in progress chapter views? Let me know...
In the meantime, it’s back to work for me. Both writing and my current day job.
Talk again later.

Covid-19
Ok, well, this isn't going to just blow over now is it? So many deaths, so many infected and people not listening to the rules of Physical Distancing (Social Distancing). I think writers are doing their best to understand if their works are getting lowered in price, that reading is probably a good thing right now, and hopefully will interest new readers.
I just want to say, that I hope people done't stop buying books (especially mine), writers are just in need of financial help like anyone else. But, times as they are, I understand if it's more than likely not going to happen as we sink in world wide debt. This could be the biggest recession of our entire lives. Let's not sugar coat it. We know it will be.
But
But hopefully that will not last long either. Everyone is working hard to do their best at keeping the virus from spreading. The doctors, nurses, janitorial staff and so many other services that are risking their own health on a daily basis. We should thank them all for doing so much and being there on the frontlines of this viral war.
Who would have thought something like this, a science fiction type thriller of a pandemic, would be the stuff of reality? It just shows that no one is immune, that we need to work together as a planet, to combat and maintain the real issues at hand. Not race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation... but keeping the world and us protected from disasters like this.
We are a fragile species. We need to listen and follow the rules given my the medical/scientific community, we need to survive as best we can.
Keep up with social/physical distancing, wash your hands and cough/sneeze into small of your arm, and don't spread it to others! Stay home if you're sick.
Here endth the rant....
