I've spent my life reading and always wanted to write. About ten years ago, I started One Night in Bridgeport, a legal thriller. Bridgeport is now available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon, and in all other e-reader formats on Smashwords.

Writing that story opened the door to writing. I've since written about 45 short stories -- with two stories published by The First Line and two at www.toasted-cheese.com.

Weed Therapy, about a man's journey to find happiness, is my next novel ready to be published. And, after that, I have three partially completed novels ready for my attention.

In my other life, I'm an attorney. I have two teenagers about ready to start college. I cook, bake, garden ... and read.

For ten years, I really didn't have it. Wrote two novels, dozens of short stories. I always seemed to have ideas and the ability to write them. Now, I'm stuck. Three half completed novels and no ability to make progress on them. And no ideas for any short stories either. Got any ideas?(less)

Photography Advice

A few years ago, I entered five photographs in the California State Fair Photography competition. Four of them were accepted and displayed. While I didn’t win any prizes, it still felt good to have my photos be viewed that favorably. I was going to give it a go again last year, but decided to skip […]

The Dime by Mark Paxson
"What I love most about The Dime is what you see on the cover, this juxtaposition of dark and light depicting three troubled people outlined in black—one of them in a wheelchair — staring out at a sea of light. They stand at the very edge of devastati" Read more of this review »
The Quarantined City by James Everington
"This book contains an intricate and cleverly constructed story. It begins with two questions: why is the city quarantined and who is the reclusive author Boursier? Once Fellows (the main character) acquires several stories written by Boursier and rea" Read more of this review »

The Jump by Mark Paxson
"It’s scary when a writer hits that window of not-too-distant future dystopian that feels too much in the here and now of non-fiction. Paxson does this with a dose of optimism. I found his distinction between different states an interesting approach t" Read more of this review »
