I am now a full time writer of children's books.

It started as a hobby, to keep my brain active.
But I see it now in two ways.
The first thing I have discovered is that creative writing is great for mental heath. Completing a work brings a positive feeling of well-being.
The second way I see it now is more like a job than a hobby. But it's not organised like you have to be in an office job, for example.
If you came to my house you would find post-its and motley bits of paper with scribbled notes lying around on tables and chairs, or sticking out of the top of books... Anywhere in fact, the reason being that ideas flit in and out of my thoughts, almost endlessly!
