Christy-Award winner Angela Hunt writes for readers who have learned to expect the unexpected in novels from this versatile author. With nearly six million copies of her books sold worldwide, she is the best-selling author of more than 165 works ranging from picture books (The Tale of Three Trees) to novels.

Now that her two children are grown, Angie and her husband live in Florida with Very Big Dogs (a direct result of watching Turner and Hooch and Sandlot too many times). This affinity for mastiffs has not been without its rewards--one of their dogs was featured on Live with Regis and Kelly as the second-largest canine in America. Their dog received this dubious honor after an all-expenses-paid trip to Manhattan for the dog and the Hunts,

I really liked the humor, creativity, wit, and history in this book. Max was a fun protagonist, and I never knew what to expect--always a plus in any book.

Didn't care so much for the gigantic cast (couldn't remember who was who), or the obligatory s

“I've never been one to mourn the passing of what could have been a promising relationship. When Jeff broke my heart in the ninth grade, I decided then and there that if a guy couldn't see that I was something special, I'd say good-bye with no regrets. Not that I think I'm more special than anyone else, mind you. But if a thing is not meant to be, I figure it's just not part of God's infinite plan.”
Angela Elwell Hunt, The Velvet Shadow

“And let me tell you - carrying sad memories will wear you out. You've got to put them down walk away. Do whatever you must to put emotional space between yourself and your past. That's the only way you're going to make it through.”
Angela Elwell Hunt, The Note

“What would you say to a loved one if you had only a few seconds to impart a last message? What language does love speak?
Some of you speak love with wine and roses. For other, "I love you," is best said by breakfast in bed, carefully set aside sport sections, or night out at the movies, complete with buttered popcorn.
Children spell love T-I-M-E. So, I think, do older folks.
Teenagers spell it T-R-U-S-T. Sometimes parents spell love N-O.
But no matter what the letters, the emotion beneath the wording must be tangible, demonstrable, and sincere.”
Angela Elwell Hunt, The Note

soph.connects.the.dots Hey Angela! Thanks for accepting my fr:) I loved The Tale of Three Trees growing up as a kid!

Jeanie Just starting reading your new book Five Miles South of Peculiar and saw your authors note. I am from the Kansas City area and not far from Peculiar Missouri. The town got it's name because when requesting a name they wanted a name that was "peculiar" and Peculiar was birthed.

message 2: by Julie

Julie N Thanks for adding me! I count your books among those that really got me into literature. Dreamers and Roanoke are two that I read in Middle School and loved. My grandmother and I trade books and yours are some that she continues to pass on to me after she's finished.

Daniel
Angela, I've added Uncharted and some of your other books to my to-read list.
