Wilson Harp is a writer based out of the American Midwest. As a military brat, he traveled and met people from many cultures and backgrounds. Exposure to so many different views has led him to an appreciation of an eclectic collection of music, film and literature.

His sense of wonder at stories and folklore started young and continues to this day, often affecting the themes and ideas in his writing. In his works you will find the old fashioned ideas of virtue and honor as the lifeline that pulls many of his characters through the situations they often find themselves.

When he isn't writing, you can often find him trying to perfect the cooking of meat over an open flame.

Hi Birgit,

So sorry, I don't come to goodreads very often so I didn't see this. Yes, the sequel to 'EMP' is the book 'EMP: Heading Home' and it is the very story you ask about.

I was trying to imagine what life would really be like for a survivor of something like an EMP. The world wouldn't be like Mad Max, it wouldn't even be a direct plunge into a gritty, grimy existence. It would be a steady and unrelenting breakdown of everything around us.

I had the idea of survival in a small, rural town (where I believe the chance of survival would be highest) and thought about what it would look like through the eyes of someone who hadn't necessarily thought about what it would take to survive in that type of situation.

'EMP' should be out soon and is a first-person account of life in a small town after a world wide Electro-Magnetic Pulse strikes due to a massive solar flare.(less)

“She wants you to tell her she is just going to be displeased, David. She knows you can’t fix everything and it frustrates her when you try. Just tell her it isn’t anything you can fix but you will get through it together.”
