Goodreads asked Wilson Harp:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Wilson Harp I was reading a lot of prepper websites and blogs. The idea of an end of the world situation has usually been handled with high drama in fiction. I was trying to imagine what life would really be like for a survivor of something like an EMP. The world wouldn't be like Mad Max, it wouldn't even be a direct plunge into a gritty, grimy existence. It would be a steady and unrelenting breakdown of everything around us.

I had the idea of survival in a small, rural town (where I believe the chance of survival would be highest) and thought about what it would look like through the eyes of someone who hadn't necessarily thought about what it would take to survive in that type of situation.

'EMP' should be out soon and is a first-person account of life in a small town after a world wide Electro-Magnetic Pulse strikes due to a massive solar flare.
