Reading goals for 2015

2015 is going to have to be better than 2014 was. I did not have a good year, and not just because I failed to reach my reading goal.

Because of personal problems and general ill mental health, I expect to be doing a lot of re-reading of books I've already read especially for the first part of the year.

I guess I'm doing comfort reading instead of reading new stuff. But it's what I have to do right now.

Reading goals for 2013

I didn't set a goal here last year, but I'm pretty sure I read over 100 books. So my goal for this year is 80 books, and at least one of them needs to be a dense classic I've been avoiding.

So far, I've done two celebrity biographies and a kids' book about zombies. Because I'm mature and sophisticated like that.

Bad reviews

I just wanted to note the irony of the fact that every single bad review I've ever gotten, here or elsewhere has been from someone who USED TO live in the UK. People who live here now like my book. People who have never been here like it. But the people who only know the UK through their own rose-colored nostalgia hate it.

So do yourself a favor: if you used to live in the UK, don't buy my book. It's not written for you, and you will be disappointed that it is not the book you would have written, based on your own homesickness for a perfect UK that has only ever existed in your head.
