Lynne M. Spreen writes later-in-life romance and women’s fiction that celebrates reinvention, resilience, and the rich complexity of a woman’s second act. Her debut novel, Dakota Blues, won a literary award and launched a new chapter in her life--she's up to twelve books and counting. After waiting half her life to pursue her dream of writing, she brings hard-earned insight to every story she tells.

Lynne lives in Southern California with her husband, where she balances the demands of the author life with line dancing, gardening, and the occasional round of zombie video games with her grandkids. When not writing, she’s most likely reading, researching, or quietly cheering for anyone brave enough to begin again.

What the heck is your point?" I wave my arms around a lot and mumble audibly.
Then I go back in my office and draw diagrams on the whiteboard. Maybe boxes with arrows, depicting what happens first, then next, then next, etc. If none of that works, I turn to alcohol.(less)

Hi everybody! I started this blog in 2009. Since then, I’ve written over five hundred posts, and I think a lot of them are worth saving! So I’m keeping this page open. But in the future, instead of blogging about midlife and beyond, and the writing biz, and the fun I’m having at the ripe […]

“about to make, but the idea had faded. Not for the first time that day, she wished the hall outside her door hadn’t become the official gathering place for coworkers in search of gossip and idle chit chat. It wasn’t like her to lose focus so easily. Karen couldn’t afford to slow down,”

Lynne Spreen Hi Ina, I haven't actually been active in that group for over a year, but you might contact its founder, a woman by the name of Claude Nougat. Here is a link to her page, and best wishes. https://www.goodreads.com/ClaudeNougat

message 3: by Beryl

Beryl Hi Lynne - I would like to recommend a book to you - "Old Filth" - it is about a lawyer (Failed In London Tried Hongkong = F I L T H) - this book is equally as good as Harold Fry AND the amazing thing about the book is that Jane Gardam has written the 'same' story again in a book called The Man in the Wooden Hat - this is written from the perspective of an enemy of Old Filth's there is a 3rd book in the series - I GUARANTEE if you read Old Filth then The Man in the Wooden Hat (which I read in 2 sittings) you will love them (I think the Hat is Better than Old Filth) I am just about to order the 3rd book from the library. Best wishes from Beryl
