October is Here!!

Hi Readers, So happy that my favorite month of the year has finally arrived. October. I love it. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked. Cooler weather has finally arrived, so we can now wear our jeans and oversized sweaters. It's time to go leaf peeping and see the colorful leaves of autumn. It's time to bake apple pies and make stew! Not to mention, Halloween, the one day we get to pretend to be someone else. I love that. Just thought I would hop in here today and see what you love about Autumn and ask everyone what they are reading.

Meet the Author

I'm so excited! I'm doing a meet and greet at my local Barnes & Noble. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. When I wrote this book, I never dreamed I would be appearing in a book store meeting readers. So exciting! This is the first time I will be making an appearance as a author and I'm nervous, but more thrilled than I could tell you. If any authors out there have words of advice, I would appreciate it.

Meet the Author

The Meet the Author event at Barnes & Noble was tonight. There were so many people there that B&N had police officers standing around the Nook area. Eight authors were there meeting and greeting readers. Family and friends who showed up were a blessing. So nice to see familiar smiles. Made a few important contacts and look forward to the next event. Now ... back to writing.

We Spend Our Lives Playing The Waiting Game

Why does it seem that we are always waiting for something? When we are young, we can't wait to be older. A child is always saying 6 and a half, or 8 and a half, always anxious to be old enough. Then we are waiting to get our driver's license; next it's old enough to vote, then old enough to buy a drink. We wait for our boyfriend to call, wait for that job offer, promotion, marriage proposal, wedding date, or baby to be born. We wait for trains, planes, and buses. And if you are a writer, you wait to hear back on submissions, wait for edits, wait for second edits, and wait for your book release. It seems we spend our lives playing the waiting game. Right now, I'm waiting to hear about a submission, and to get second edits on an upcoming release. Have we become an "instant" society? I think everyone would agree with me when I say waiting stinks.
